Great read! The storyline was actually pretty wild and unbelievable but it was entertaining and I enjoyed it. It was non stop action and gun fights right the way through the book so it kept my attention and interest. Haven’t read a JP book for years so this was a nice surprise. I’m a bit conflicted as to how many stars to give it because I did really enjoy it and particularly toward the end section of the book I found it hard to put down. My gut says 3.5 stars but I feel like to be fair I should give it 4 and not 3 because I did find it a very good read. Oh I wish I could give half stars! I do recommend this book if you love a read with plenty of action, would definitely read more by this author.

James Patterson is an all time favourite author of mine and I have read much of the Alex Cross series as well as previous Private books. Private Moscow is another which does not disappoint. The storyline was gripping and had a good twist which I couldn't have predicted (a definite plus in my eyes). Set across the States and Moscow (obviously), the realistic descriptive detail helps you imagine the scenes as you read. I like the way it transitioned from one part of the story and characters (Jack Morgan in New York with Karl Parker) then to Moscow (Dinara Orlova and Leonid Boykov). Initially there doesn't seem to be a link and it gradually becomes clearer as the novel continues. I enjoyed the way the personal relationships build up (Jack and Karl) (Dianara and Loenid) showing more background and detail as the book progresses. The use of short chapters is one of the reasons I love James Patterson as it maintains interest and keeps you wanting to read the next bit. Recommended!

Another Page Turner from James Patterson 📖📚

Whilst Private Moscow is part of the Private series, if you've not read the previous books, this would not affect your reading of this one. Private Jack Morgans main focus is to find the person who assassinated his good friend Karl Parker. Karl invites Jack to an open evening, which ended very differently to how he thought it would, although Karl actions suggests he felt the evening had a very sinister feel... Jack then goes on the chase after the assassin. Putting together snippets of information Karl hoped Jack would find and piece together, leaves Jack questioning if he really knew Karl at all.

Then there's Private Moscow, Dinara and Leonid are investigating the murder of Yana Petrova, minimal information given by the man who took on the help of Private Moscow, investigating this puts them in grave danger.

Many things going on in this book, Jack in his usual precarious situations. Another great read from James Patterson, I've read many of this authors books, do not disappoint.

I absolutely love James Patterson's books and you can understand why he is considered one of the best , if not THE best in the game. His books are fast paced and they grip you from the first page to the last. This one certainly lives up to that description. This latest in the Private series is a welcome addition and sees the action take place in New York and then Moscow. Goodies, baddies, shoot outs, kidnappings - this book has it all. Brilliant book and 5 stars all the way.

This is a fast paced, well plotted page turner. I didn’t expect anything less. Its nice to read the next of the ‘Private’ series but it’s a stand alone read if you haven’t ready any of the earlier books.

Jack Morgan is asked by his mentor to meet him before an important meeting only to witness his murder in a crowded room. Jack is determined to find the killer and when the widow asks him to investigate, he ends up chasing leads half way across the world.

Private’s Moscow branch isn’t doing any where near as well as the other branches in the company, but then a top Russian business man asks them to investigate the recent brutal murder of office worker, Yana, and it looks as though things are picking up. As both investigations continue, it looks as though they may be connected. A great read as always.

Action packed book as is always the case with the Private series. This is exactly what I was hoping for and wasn't disappointed. Another little gem by James Patterson that needs no introduction.

Just had the pleasure of reading this via #NetGalley and it's a great edition to the Private series for all those familiar with Jack Morgan and some other well known characters. There are introductions to some new editions too. Equally a good story even if you haven't read any of the Private stories before. Fast paced to keep you on the edge of your seat all the way through. It has my recommendation.

I haven’t read any of the author’s Private series before. It initially took me a short while to get used to the characters and I felt the book got off to a thrilling and great start. I was hooked from beginning to the end, I liked the characters, there was so much action and the last quarter of the book had me on the edge of my seat. A very believable and well thought out and executed plot from the authors. The writing style is different to what I’ve read before which took time to become familiar with. Didn’t affect my enjoyment of the book though. If you like spy, espionage books I would recommend this.

Private Moscow was fast paced and full of energy! It's well written and action packed! I thought the characters were strong, especially Jack, Dinara. and Leonid. It didn't disappoint my expectations after reading other books from this series.

Fast paced, alarmingly quick in telling a new story James Patterson doesn’t disappoint with this book. Private Moscow starts in New York and one of Jack Morgans best friends being shot right in front of him
Then the true story starts taking us to Moscow and the failing Private Moscow headquarters with its two paid investigators. Jack is following clues left by his best friend showing him his friend was not a traitor but leaving Jack no idea what is happening
This book is fantastic red doesn’t disappoint in any way I loved every twist and turn

Private Moscow is a fast-paced, high-octane thriller. The kind we’ve come to expect of both Patterson, and Hamdy. I quickly got hooked with this one, and I didn’t want to put it down. Great characters, a really well thought out plot and packed with action, it’s a great addition to the Private series. Highly recommended!

Another brilliant thriller from a master of the genre.

I have long been a fan of the James Patterson Private series, so I was expecting good things from this book.

I have to admit that even so, I found it better than I expected.

Jack, the owner of Private, a multinational detective agency, answers a call to visit a former mentor, who clearly wants to tell him something, When his friend is killed, and an anti capitalist group takes responsibility, his widow asks Private to investigate, setting off a chain of events that send Jack round the world to find his killer.

Jack soon finds himself in a situation nobody had bargained for, and is forced to rely on his wits and physical prowess just to stay alive.

Simply brilliant. If you like Jack Reacher, a good whodunnit, an action thriller or a suspense novel, or simplybenjoy a rollicking story, you have to read this, The series as a whole is fine, and yhis book is a stand out addition to it.

Karl Parker’s corporation is being floated on the stock market and he’s invited his old friend Jack Morgan, head of the Private Investigation company to be there with him and his family. Karl is assassinated just before he rings the bell and Jack is hired by his widow to investigate. What Jack discovers changes everything he thought he knew about Karl and leads him to Moscow. He teams up with Dinara and Leonid the two operatives at Private Moscow and further murders lead them to the discovery of a secret operation that has put Russian agents in prominent situations in the US and threatens national security.

This is a well paced book which keeps you engaged the whole way through. A good read.

This was a definite marked improvement on the last Private novel released. Fast paced and edge of your seat reading I was gripped from the outset.

In New York, Jack Morgan has been contacted by an old colleague whom he hasn’t seen in years - is it just that he wants to catch up or is there something he wants to get off his chest. Whichever it is, he doesn’t get the chance to say as he is killed in plain sight. Jack promises to avenge his friends murder and find those responsible.

Meanwhile in Moscow, Dinara Orlova and her colleague Leonid Boykov from Private Moscow have been commissioned by a Russian oligarch to investigate the murder of a woman killed in an explosion.

The investigations while seemingly unconnected become entwined and it soon becomes clear that something bigger than Jack et al could ever have imagined is afoot.

A thoroughly enjoyable read. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced read copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

I love James Patterson and always look out for his latest book. This collaboration with Adam Hamdy certainly did not disappoint. It was one of those books that is finished too soon because I just couldn't put it down.I loved the storyline and the characters.

I decided to read this because I had read a Adam Hamdy thriller at the end of last year which I had very much enjoyed. This is the latest in a Patterson series that I have never read before, so the central protagonist, former marine Jack Morgan, who runs a successful international private investigations enterprise, is new to me. Jack's friend, tech billionaire Karl Parker runs Silverlink International and though the two hadn't seen each other for a while, a worried Karl arranges a meeting. To Jack's horror, Karl is assassinated in front of his eyes at the NY Stock Exchange, for which an unknown group, the Ninety-nine Percent claim responsibility. However, Jack does not believe this for one second, as Karl's widow, Victoria turns to him to get to the bottom of his death. Jack has always believed Karl is a good man, but is it possible he never really knew him?

As Jack investigates with the help of members of his team, he finds himself tumbling down a rabbit hole, there appears to be a previous linked murder and he finds himself unable to prevent another assassination. Jack's Private Moscow office run by Dina Orlova and her partner, tough ex-Moscow cop Leonid Boykov, take on much needed business with a Russian oligarch, Maxim Yenen. He asks them to look into the death of Yana Petrova, killed in a explosion at the Boston Seafood Grill. Yana, an apparently ordinary customer services employee, had a late night date at the restaurant that ended in the murder of both of them. Jack arrives in Moscow believing the next target is at the American Embassy in the city. Jack finds himself joining forces with Dina and Leonid as it begins to emerge there may be connections between their two cases.

This is a fast paced and entertaining espionage thriller where the suspense and tension is raised with the use of short chapters. It took me a while to get into this but once I did, I found myself caught up in the action packed story, and I particularly like the characters of Dina and Leonid, operating in the bitter, freezing winter of Moscow. The familiar tropes of a thriller are well deployed to give us a compelling and engaging read, with Jack, Dina and Leonid finding themselves in the gravest of danger, with the action culminating in a thrilling high octane ending. Many thanks to Random House Cornerstone for an ARC.

A really enjoyable installment in the Private Series with characters that I actually became quite attached to.

The action was brilliant and just how I like the Private books to be with short snappy chapters that keep you turning the pages quickly.

I really enjoyed the back story which could feature in its own book (just in case the authors decide to go that way....!)

Had been a fan of James Patterson for many years but my first excursion in to the Private series Private Moscow a great story line lots of twists and turns a spy story with a difference. Looking forward to more from this series.

Private Moscow by James Patterson and Adam Hamdy was one of the best books I’ve read for a while. I do love a good spy story with great characters and a clever, credible (for the genre) storyline. The usual ingredients of former marines/servicemen in private practice, uncovering corruption and betrayal are used to good effect to tell a story of Russian American spy craft and modern war games.
Dinara and Leonid really did come to life for me. If I’m honest, Leonid did seem to be a better fit as the lead for Jack Morgan’s company Private, Moscow than Dinara but maybe her character was evolving (no spoilers). Plenty of tension and suspense kept me reading. The storyline handled Karl’s back story very well and built to an action packed conclusion with a nice hook for a sequel Five stars from me

Private Moscow is the first book in the Private series I have read. I certainly wasn’t disappointed. There are so many twists and turns, so much fast action and plenty of interesting characters. While Jack Morgan is trying to identify the killer of his friend In America, across in Russia Dinara and Leonid are trying to find the killer of a woman. When it becomes clear the two cases could be connected their lives are in danger

A brilliant read that I quickly became absorbed in

A high octane thriller in this series involving Jack Morgan and his investigation agency, Private. In this book one of Jack's friends is killed, and Jack is drawn to Russia as he tries to discover who killed his friend, and what exactly his friend was involved in.

Exciting, pacy and what you'd expect form a Patterson book! There is a switch of narrator from first to third person in various chapters which occasionally jolts the reader, but its easy enough to get over. Very enjoyable, I'll be looking out for more.

Thank you to NetGalley, Random House UK, Cornerstone and Century for allowing me access to the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is a pacey, twisty conspiracy with lots to recommend it to the reader. I was drawn in to the story quickly, and thought the settings were well researched and realised. This is an international thriller with a focus on the dark forces unleashed after the fall of Communism, moving seamlessly between the US and Russia.

Karl Parker, a former Marine and African-American telecoms specialist is murdered in public and in front of his family. Jack Morgan, an old friend, is drawn into finding out the truth about his death after being hired by Park'er's wife. At the same time a young woman is murdered in Moscow. Morgan and his team Private, an international private detective firm, dig into what connects the two murders. Morgan flies to Moscow to investigate with Russian co-workers - at great cost to all of them.

This is a punchy book, full of action sequences, impeccably plotted and with good characterisation. One of the best Patterson series out there.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for an ARC in return for an honest review.

Karl Parker is murdered as he is about to open the stock exchange. Jack Morgan the owner of Private is with him at the time and thoroughly shocked. Karl's widow hires Jack to track down who has killed her husband despite a group called the ninety nine claiming responsibility.
Meanwhile, Dinara Orlov the head of Private Moscow is hired to investigate the murder of Yana Petrov an office worker.
Jacks investigation soon leads to a potential victim at the American Embassy in Russia. So Jack heads to Moscow where Dinara and himself start to uncover things.
A fast moving book. Very easy to read and enjoyable characters. I particularly liked Leonid Boykov an ex-cop who is Dinara's driver and side kick.
Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in return for an honest review

Written with good pace. I found I was invested in the plot. Shows the intrigue, lies and thuggery that is behind the American/Russian struggle for power. We have no idea what truly happens within politics and with technological developments.

Private Moscow by James Patterson and Adam Hamdy is book 15 in the Private series and a 5 star read.
Head of the world’s largest detective agency, Jack Morgan heads to New York to visit his best friend, but he sees him murdered in front of his eyes, Jack sets out to find the murderer and this takes him to Moscow where not everything is as it seems.
This is a fast paced thriller with a gripping storyline, it’s just what I’ve come to expect from a James Patterson book.
