Beautifully illustrated. This anthology of stories for young children was enjoyed by my younger boys (1 & 3), they particularly enjoyed 'Unicorn Training' with Splodge and 'Josh and the Woo Woo'.
I'd agree that these would make good bedtime stories as their tone and length lends itself to this.
My Granddaughter loved the stories in this book. I especially liked 'The Little Lost Lamb' and the 'Kind Mr Bear'. These stories are an ideal length for bedtime and can be told simply to children as young as two and talked about with older children as they subtly model positive behaviour. The illustrations are eye-catching and certainly add to the understanding of the story. All in all, a real winner for children 2 to 5.
This is a beautifully illustrated collection of short stories that will appeal to children in the 2 to 5 years age group. Some of the stories will appeal more to younger children, while others are more suitable for older children. But they all share sweet messages about things like friendship, kindness, helping and perseverance. Each story takes no more than five minutes to read; longer with time for questions and discussion.
My two little grandsons (3 and 4) loved looking through this book with me and surprised me with how well they understood the moral of each tale. The stories are a joy to read aloud with plenty alliteration and onomatopoeia offering lots of scope for funny voices and expressions. My boys were fascinated by the colorful, detailed pictures and I often had to stop the storytelling to answer their questions — the sign of a genuinely engaging book in my opinion.
Perfect stories to help get your little one to sleep. Definitely a new bedtime favourite. Would highly recommend.
We LOVED this! Ada really enjoyed having lots of stories read to her, when she is going down for her nap or bedtime. This book is filled with lovely tales, that she really enjoys reading, over and over. The illustrations are gorgeous, and the stories are varied, giving her lots to enjoy. We very highly recommend this collection.
