Cynthia Graubart dedicates an entire book to making a single fruit the centerpiece of recipes. It is amazing. From Scones to Lemonade, there is something for everyone to try.
Cynthia Graubart, I did not think I could love blueberries more than strawberries, hence your cookbook an ode to blueberries has PROVEN ME WRONG!
Some interesting recipes that I noted were the warm chicken blueberry salad and the blueberry blue cheese spread. I cannot wait to male these for get togethers at my house with family. But i think tge very first recipe out of this that inwould try would be the Salmon with the blueberry onion jam glaze. I saw the jam in another recipe as well and had to go back thru to find it. The only criticism I would give is that since the jam (blueberry onion) is contained in more than one recipe I would have liked to have seen it as a stand alone recipe on a seperate page. Other than that, this is a stunner of a cookbook! Photographs are plenty and I love having the recipes illustrated with detail. Love this cookbook especially.
Ive already got a few people in mind for gifts of this!
Thank you to NetGalley for this free ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book is GORGEOUS! I love blueberries and often use them in baking. The recipes include well known blueberry combinations and recipes, blueberry and lemon, blueberry cheesecake but lots of new ideas I’d never considered but can’t wait to try!
The photos are wonderful and each recipe has at least one photo of the end result which I love, I hate it when recipe books don’t have enough photos.
I’d really recommend this book to blueberry fans, both bakers and cooks. I’m going to make a blueberry pie this afternoon and can’t wait to try some of the other recipes.
I love blueberry anything and knowing there’s a specific science to making the perfect blueberry dessert is mind blowing. Thank you so much netgalley, I never knew I needed this cool book so much!!
I can't wait to put this book and Strawberry Love on an endcap together. In this book, I look forward to trying the blueberry-lemon icebox loaf cake and the salmon fillets with blueberry-onion jam glaze, a combo I never would've come up with myself.
This book was received as an ARC from Storey Publishing in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.
This book could not have gotten more better and I am reviewing it right at the perfect time. We have so many blueberries in our freezer that we were running out of ideas other than jams, smoothies and desserts and this book solved most of those problems. There is nothing like fresh blueberries when they are in season and we get an abundance of them and we always get so overwhelmed with ideas of what to do and this book was a great solution for that. I can't wait to try the blueberry bread pudding and mustarda.
We will consider adding this title to our TX Cookbook collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.
Yummmmm!! I can wait until the weekend! I still have frozen blueberries in my freezer and there are many blueberry recipes to make in this book! I'm betting some will freeze well, too! Blueberry Coffee cake sounds like a wonderful way to begin a day, some blueberry-orange scones to freeze. Blueberry-Lavender Lemonade with Buttermilk Blueberry Pancakes for lunch! Buttermilk Blueberry Soup on menu next year! Sauteed Pork with blueberries sounds wonderful for dinner! And a nice blueberry syrup to cover everything! Cobblers are always nice with apple, but blueberries instead sound like heaven! So many wonderful treats in this book with uses for blueberries I have not ever thought of. Genius! Thanks for sharing Ms. Graubart!
Ah! All things blueberry. This delicious little fruit bursting with flavor gets all the attention it deserves. Helpful descriptions of different varieties and some great storing and cooking tips. The recipes are mouthwatering with vivid pictures included. The combination of sweet and savory has me excited to try out so many new dishes. There are even homemade beverages that are simple to make but full of flavor. I am super excited about this new addition to my kitchen booklist. I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley and all opinions expressed are my own, freely given.
I just LOVE this "Blueberry Love" cookbook! Typically, when reviewing a new cookbook, I might find a handful of recipes I might like to try. But honestly, I want to try nearly every recipe in this book. I think that's partly because nearly every recipe is accompanied by a mouth-watering photo of the dish. But also, it's because I love blueberries and grow them. Just a sampling of the variety of recipes: Wild Blueberry Horseradish Bleu Cheese Spread, Salmon with Blueberry Onion Jam Glaze, Sauteed Pork Tenderloin with Blueberry Balsamic Mustard Glaze, and Blueberry-Lemon-Basil Granita. This, in addition to more traditional recipes for cobbler, coffee cake, and pies! I'm definitely going to buy this book!
This cookbook is entirely dedicated to the blueberry. The author uses the fruit in a number of ways. The recipes are well set out and easy to follow and I would recommend this to anyone who likes blueberries!
Who knew you could create an entire book around one fruit? This was an amazing find, especially since blueberries are one of my favorites.
I usually get stuck making the same dishes, like blueberry pie, pastries, and jam, but now I know so much more can be done with them!
This is a must-read if you're into cooking and baking or simply into blueberries!
