I thought that this book was great!
I was really keen to read this to see how they would introduce what is a classic for me to a new set of younger readers and I thought that it was done really well.
It is 4 stars from me for this one, it kept most of the key parts from the story in and condensed it really well – highly recommended and hopefully this will encourage readers to pick up the traditional text when they are a little older – I loved the illustrations too.
Step Into: Alice in Wonderland is a board book specifically designed to introduce children aged 3-5 to one of the most enchanting and enduring stories of all time. In 6 double-page spreads, the key elements of the story are presented with each block of text accompanied by vibrant and fun illustrations, by Cynthia Alonso, (see attached screenshots for an idea), of the key characters and renowned scenes from the original work by Lewis Carroll. It's all really beautifully crafted. Recommended to those with young children and library and school bookshelves. Many thanks to Quarto - words&pictures for an ARC.
A concise version of a classic tale, Alice in Wonderland, this board book is wonderfully narrated through text that's easy to absorb by the targeted readers of young age and vibrant illustrations that capture the essential scenes in all their evocative purpose.
