Description

This inspiring picture book tells the story of the friendship between Ringo, Paul, George, and John, and how their unique talents came together to make something brilliant.

In 1957, a boy named Paul met a boy named John. John was funny and confident, while Paul was quiet and steady, but one thing they had in common was a love and talent for songwriting.

When they were joined by George and Ringo, they formed the band whose name would soon be known across the world: The Beatles. Together, the Fab Four became the world’s best-loved band, drawing huge crowds to packed-out stadiums.

But even they got nervous sometimes, and in those times they knew they could rely on each other. Through the power of friendship, The Beatles made their biggest dreams come true and still bring joy to the lives of millions.

Friends Change the World is a series of picture books that celebrates the power of friendship. From musical greats to sports champions, scientists and explorers to artists and activists, these are the true stories of real friends who achieved amazing things. Whether best friends since school or thrown together by a chance encounter, they supported and inspired each other to make their shared dreams come true. This charming series shows 4- to 7-year-olds how togetherness, respect, and friendship can make the world a better place.

I read this book last night and I thought that it was great!

The illustrations in the book are wonderful and they really brought The Beatles to life.

The book was easy to follow and read and it had a great flow to it too – the focus is just on the very early years of the band and how they got together and how their friendship make them such an influential band that really did change the music scene forever with their songs still being played and favourites for a lot of people decades later.

It is 4 stars from me for this one – highly recommended!

Firstly I must mention the illustration in this book. The bold bright colours and shapes match those of the Yellow Submarine artwork and work so well in a children’s book. The main thing I loved about this book was the simplicity of it, the story was told in a very sweet way that the children loved as I read it. This is perfect for music fans and would make a great unique gift for a child

Such a cute little book. I'm a huge fan of the Beatles (like most people around the world haha) and this book would be perfect for the little people in my life.

It of course if very short, and misses out a lot of key details - but I think children would love it. The illustrations are great and really reflect the colourful 1960s style. It focusses on kindness, friendship and teamwork - so a great message!

Very cute!

Living in Liverpool, it’s hard to not be aware of the cultural significance of The Beatles. We have statues of them, statues of characters they sang about and themed Magical Mystery Tour buses to take tourists to see the birthplaces of John, Paul, George and Ringo. This book is a great way to introduce the story of the Fab Four to a younger generation. It’s a simplified version of their story that children would be able to follow and understand but that adults will still enjoy too. The bright, bold illustrations are reminiscent of Beatles films and album artwork, specifically the rounded shapes of Yellow Submarine.
This is a beautiful book for sharing with young children to introduce the story and music of The Beatles.

This is a great book that tells the story of how The Beatles met, and their journey to being the band we know and love, but because it's a children's book it's told very simply, so it's easy to understand.
I actually really enjoyed it myself , and enjoyed learning about the Beatles.

Such a gorgeous book! This is a profile of the Beatles designed for children - it tells the story of how John and Paul met, how George and Ringo joined the band and how the Beatles rose to superstardom - with vibrant illustrations which stylistically pay homage to the imagery that the Beatles are synonymous with. This is a great introduction to the Beatles for kids or a way to start explaining the band that produced amazing songs that your children may be familiar with and love already.

I loved this book about The Beatles, which is made for children and has lovely, easy to read words and illustrations which give an insight into the early lives of The Beatles and how they got together and created beautiful music. The Beatles are one of my favourite bands, so I was delighted to read this book and I really enjoyed it!
