Description

Florida's Citrus Belt, finest place in the world to grow citrus, Tropical Zone summers, hot, humid, rain. Temperate Zone winters, mild, possible touch of frost, minor chance of freeze. Perfect. Except, the place is directly in the flyway of airborne illegally imported illicit opioids from our neighbors to the south. They fly unseen into the U. S., bound for Midwest and East Coast distribution, invade under cover of night, land in the rural unpopulated groves, commandeer homes and barns, threaten murder, bankruptcy, economic havoc. Some brave young citizens face the traffickers, fight back, bring high seas chase all the way to Bahamas hideouts, battle vicious gunfire and a deadly hurricane, and even find young love. Who wins? This time, you do.

This book was pretty entertaining but a little bit all over the place. There were a few main characters, but side characters kept popping up all over the place. It definitely kept moving and was a quick read. There were two relatively graphic (compared to the rest of the book) sex scenes that were about 2/3 of the way in that came out of nowhere. This book was almost like a tv series in that it was a collection of many scenes in different locales with different characters, the trouble was tying it all together.

This is OK. It doesn't have the polish of a more experience author. It's a bit episodic and moves along a pretty good pace. There are a couple of scenes that didn't seem to add to the story, and it's a bit uneven at times. I hope the author continues to write.

Thanks very much for the review copy!!
