Siggy Loves Sausages by Brian Frederick is an adorable book featuring Siggy the dog. The whimsical illustrations are what drew me to the book immediately. I just love them! And the story is super cute and kids will just love Siggy. I hope to see more books featuring Siggy and his adventures.
Thank you Netgally for the softwood copy of this book for my honest review.
What beautiful illustrations this book has. This book follows a little dog called Siggy who goes on an adventure to rescue a bag that's flown away. I hope that there shall be more books following Siggy's adventures. I think children will love the beautiful pictures and hearing this cute story. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Siggy Loves Sausages is a beautifully illustrated children's book which tells the story of Siggy the dachshund and his adventures as he tries to catch a flyaway paper bag. It is beautifully written and has magical elements to it, such as fairies, which my 4 year old son loves.
Thank you to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for my ARC.
I love the combination of a little adventure and the magical adventures. This book is beautifully illustrated and I can't wait to encourage the children around me to read it.
This is a beautifully illustrated picture book which will enthrall young readers and those a little older who may be reading to them. Siggy is utterly adorable and there is a perfect mix of magic, fun and adventure. As an educationalist it was wonderful to see a more extensive vocabulary used and a wonderful diverse range of characters. I look forward to going 9n more adventures with Siggy and his friends.
I have a soft spot for kids books, I love watching kids fall in love with reading. With that being said it’s my job as an educator and employee of a library to carefully choose books for our little ones. No doubt this story will become a staple in my classroom and hopefully at our library. The story was beautifully illustrated and cuteness overload.
I was a bit disappointed at how wordy this book was. Siggy is a Dauschand on an adventure to rescue a flying bag. He runs across many people but stays focused on his task. My little ones got a little distracted with all the wording in this, but I think would be fit for someone older than 5. The illustrations were stunning In this!
Adorable! The artwork is whimsical and wondrous, depicting Siggy's fun experiences. I think this is a great story for young readers, with easy writing to help them build their reading skills, and lots of playful adventuring to keep them engaged.
Such a cute book! I love that some people are able to understand Siggy and communicate with him, that is paw-some.
This is an adorable book with beautiful illustrations that will captivate any young readers. It tells the story of Siggy the dog who goes on a magical adventure while chasing a plastic bag, my children really enjoyed it
💠A sausage dog on a mission of kindness😊
This story weaves beautiful, unique illustrations in with a tale of kindness touched with magical elements like fairies and selected humans who can converse with kind Siggy the Sausage Dog. Siggy sets out to do a good deed for a neighbor and moves around his small English village interacting with villagers and a helpful fairy. I liked the inclusion of elements from different cultures too.
Thanks to BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
I really enjoyed this and think many kids will too. It has great illustrations that I'm sure will draw many children to the book combined with the magical story and loveable character of SIggy the sausage dog. I can see more stories of SIggy and the fairies in the town being enjoyed by many.
I loved following Siggy on his adventure. The pictures were beautiful, the story included great vocabulary for children to learn. It was fun to take an ordinary endeavor (a dog chasing a plastic bag) and turn it into an adventure. And yes, doggies will do just about anything for treats. Adorable book!
I was drawn to this book because of my love for Dachshunds'. I really enjoyed Siggy's adventure all through the town. I like that it had magical elements to the story, and how only certain people could understand him talking to them. Most importantly that he got a special treat at the end, because he loves sausage! It was adorable and my children have requested it a few times already!
Unfortunately the copy I downloaded from NetGalley was blank with only the cover visible. Thankfully this book is available on Kindle Unlimited so I was able to read it on there.
Siggy Loves Sausages is an adorable book about a dachshund who goes on a mission to retrieve a birthday present that has blown away. Along the way he meets many friends in his neighborhood and is tempted to give up on his quest to find the missing present. In the end he is able to locate it with the help of his sprite friend and is rewarded with his favorite treat- sausages!
I adored the illustrations in this book. They were very whimsical and pretty. I loved the element of magic where some of the townsfolk could understand Siggy.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the review copy. Please check on the file though because this book is too cute to miss.
I read this book on my kindle and I had all the pages on with not problem. It’s lovely story about siggy the dashound. The illustrations are beautiful but I found there was a lot of writing on each page and I don’t know if that’s to much for young child to stay interested or it’s slot for them to read but other than that it’s a lovely book .
Thank you NetGalley for letting me read this book.
Siggy Loves Sausages is a cute and whimsical children's picture book. The illustrations are really stylized and unique, and I think that is the book's biggest asset! My one critique would be that there is a lot of text on all of the pages and I don't think a young child could read this on their own.
Thank you to netgalley for a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
What a sweat book! My toddler said "I wuv him", about Siggy. We'd read more adventure from Siggy. The illustrations are a great compliment to the story.
This was absolutely adorable. I loved the excuse to read a bunch of little kiddo arcs while pregnant and I will enjoy picking them up in stores.
This is amazing as a print book. A little less impressive on an e-reader but I still enjoyed it very much.
The illustrations are playful and fluid and very well done.
Siggy is a little Dachshund, also known as a Sausage Dog.
It is funny that he looks like a sausage and loves the taste of sausage.
Siggy has many friends. Some can understand him and others that just enjoy his company.
As much as Siggy likes treats, when he sees a neighbor in trouble he does what good doggies do.
This is a book adults will not complain about reading multiple times.
Each time to read it you will discover something new.
