We love and own all the Hugless Douglas books so we were excited find this new series by David Melling.

Ruffles is the most adorable little dog. He loves lots of things: chewing, scratching, singing but he DOES NOT like to wear his new coat!!
Ruffles does like to splash in puddles a lot and play with his friend Ruby so in the end he decides it might be worth wearing his coat after all!

This is such a great little story and one every toddler (and parent!) can relate too. I'm hoping it will help to persuade my 2 year old that he needs to wear his helmet to go on his scooter (after falling off and bumping his head recently.)
A fantastic new book. We love the Ruffle series!

Colourful and winsome, this book shows a dog who dislikes his bright red coat, so he gets rid of it – but when his heart goes pitter-patter with his girly dog friend wearing a similar thing, you never know, he might just change his mind. An unusual structure here allows every page to take the option of being a clear, uncluttered sentence per page (or spread), or to be part of a set of much longer, multi-element sentences, illustrated nine times. The smaller cartoons allow for liveliness and action, and it all ends up being a slight but very enjoyable little read for enjoyable little readers. Plus a QR code lets your mobile play an audio version, free of charge, for added accessibility.
