Description

Rita is an artist, still recovering from an attack by three men. Deborah is a nurse and a killer, as much at ease ending people’s lives as prolonging them.

Maybe, if they hadn’t been lovers, it wouldn’t have gone beyond talk. But they are. And it does. The police start finding bodies. And more bodies. Because, once you start killing people, it’s difficult to stop.

New names get added to the list. All men, and all sexually interfered with. Why not? That’s what the three men did to Rita. Revenge is sweet. PC Jamie Pearson and Rita were teenagers together once. Jamie wants to find Rita.

Which is also the aim of reporter Bernadette Spence. Jamie wants Rita’s soul and Bernadette wants her story. And Deborah wants them both dead.

This book had me stumped. Sitting smug and thinking I had it all thought out, the author put me in my place. Finally we have a thriller that will keep you your toes. As with a number of authors I have been reading recently I cannot believe that this is the authors debut novel! I truly enjoyed myself and will be recommending it to anyone I see for the next few months.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book is an easy read. The story line is different from others I’ve read. The ending was a little disappointing as I felt there could have been more suspense. If this is to be the start of a series then I would definitely read the next volume.

Ok this book is a page turning! This is the first time i read a book from this author (not sure if he had wrote any book before), i kinda struggle a bit by his writing style. Instead of using " ", he used ' ' for a dialog. I'm a bit confuse for the first time, But along the way, i can adapt with his writing style. Good job! Looking forward to read the whole series later once publish.

I thought this book was okay, it was a bit different, and I liked that. Would I read another one ? Not sure, it was a good book but not outstanding, for me.

I enjoyed this book although some of the subject matters were a bit controversial. Nonetheless a good read. Recommended.

One of the best thrillers I have read in the past year. Pacy, gripping and pretty much impossible to put down. Kept me wondering throughout. A great read.

This is the first book in a crime series following the Major Crime Investigation Team in Batterton, England. We meet DI Susanna David and her boyfriend DS Chris McAvoy as they work together to solve a series of murders of men seemingly unconnected. It is a police procedural that takes the reader through the steps of the investigation without being boring. It is also a story of revenge. Rita is an artist who was attacked by 3 men as a teenager twenty years ago. Most of the men have put her out of their minds. They shouldn't have. The characters are well developed and believable. Deborah was controlling and after hearing Rita's story convinced her what needed to be done. The detectives are thorough, and they are human. Bernie the reporter is very believable in her attempt to get a story. The murdered men--well maybe they deserved it. I received a copy of this book from netGalley but this is an honest review. I very much enjoyed it and look forward to reading more in this series.

This was an interesting debut novel and I am glad that I read it. It looks like there is promise to the series and the author is someone to watch and read more.
The story itself had a lot in there - perhaps too much but overall really enjoyed it.
I was given a free copy by netgalley and the publishers but the review is entirely my own.
