Description

Four Days is a dark story about a psychopath who abducts a clairvoyant.

Although Four Days is part of a trilogy, each book is written as a standalone story so they can be read as individual books.

Weirdos were always attracted to Emily Cullen. There had always been an allure. Freakish moths drawn to some kind of light she oozed. From an early age it was a light she wished she could switch off. The monster was different. He was weird, but he was also insanely bold. His attraction to Emily was boundless, just like his love for her. Love fuelled by psychopathic tendencies and meth head mentality. He had planned the abduction meticulously, right down to the clothes she would wear, the pornography she would watch and the rules she would obey. Emily knew something bad was about to happen, but her friends and family didn't believe her. Just like they never believed her when she told them about the dead people she saw, the ones attracted to her since she first came into this world.

Advance Praise

Four Days is both horrible and beautiful… What I appreciate the most about Wilde and DeVine is their ability to be graphic without being gratuitous. Violence, especially sexual violence, serves a purpose. It’s a horrible purpose, to be sure, but a purpose nonetheless. The writing is captivating and skillfully done. There’s also a commitment to the story. If at any time Wilde and DeVine would have hesitated or faltered in any way, the whole thing would have imploded. Erin R Britt - Erendipity

Humm while the story is terrifying and terrible, the way it is written is quite good, all kinds of feeling come to me while reading it… and its kind of hard to review it without giving any spoilers, but I will do my best… it was easier to read this one because Emily was a grownup from the beginning, but being one doesn’t mean that’s the way she sees herself, Evan we got to know from a child to an adult and that made it harder to read… but back to the review…

“Monster” stalks her, from the beginning we feel that she will only end in one way, this monster treats her like garbage, and this while saying that he loves her…. So many women on this word are tethered to relationships like this… but she didn’t choose this, she was kidnaped, abused, violated, abandoned… she needed the “purple”, but she couldn’t, better, she didn’t want to bring her comfort to a place where she felt so “dead”, I loved the little details that brought this book closer to the first one … yes, this is a book that will stay with me for a long time…

Yes, it’s a book that deals with abuse, violence, animal violence, its not soft in any way, but it opens a door in a very taboo world, this book will touch you, deeply, of that I am sure, I highly recommend this book, also read this one after reading cruel, I think it will make more sense…

I thank NetGalley and BooksGoSocial, for this ARC and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is a second book of the trilogy. Even though I didn’t read the first one but still can understand this book pretty much because this book is stand alone.

Trigger warning:
A lot of visual of rape, physical abused, explicit violence.

This book is about the kidnapping of a married woman, named Emily. been told by the first-person. Honestly, I like how the narrator told the story in the first few chapters. It feels so real. This book represent all the kidnappings victims. They come back home, but they live as different people. Four days, I assumed this book tells a story about her 4 days before she die? Did she really dead? I don’t want to spoiled it to you. Please read. LOL. She didn’t tell how long she been missing from home but it’s a crucial journey towards her last 4 days she with the psychopath that she called “ Monster”

Emily is a special kid. She was gifted with special ability, see can vision and see called it purple because she sees purple whenever she have the episode. Some people might called it as a gift but not for Emily. People don’t believed whatever that she sees. She also often being called as a freak. This make her think that she’s alone in her world.

Emily knows what will happens to her, but she don’t know precisely when or where, so when the Monster attack her, she can’t fight back. One thing that creepy about monster is, he knows all about Emily, sometimes I think that the monster is not human, he is like the spirit that Emily can see, but like his name, Monster, he is a monster. Abuse, raped, molested, torture and everything that he do to Emily.

My emotion ups and down when reading this book. How come a person can claim that they love someone but they act differently? This is a DARK and disturbing novel that I ever read after the dark chorus. Read at your own risk.

I didn't realise this book was part of a trilogy with this being part two, however, it can be read as a standalone.

This book was incredibly haunting throughout. Emily experiences a stalker that is obsessed with her but nobody realises the seriousness of her situation and then the monster abducts her and over the basis of four days abuses her.

This book has themes of rape, violence, drugs and animal mutilation. (Trigger warning).

The monster in question was a well thought out character and it really dived into his psychotic tendancies and how deeply rooted his obsession was.

I didn't want to put the book down it was wrote from Emily's perspective throughout and as a reader I could really feel her helplessness and was rooting for her to have a happy ending.

No spoilers from me but it is a book worth checking out!

The book was well written and I would definitely check out the authors in the future.

Four Days by Eli Wilde, and Anna DeVine is the second book in the Strangers in Paradise series and its apart of a trilogy, each book is written as a standalone story so they can be read as individual books.

This small book is a dark story about a psychopath who abducts a clairvoyant. But, be warned it may be small but can be shocking and disturbing in parts which made me extremely uncomfortable in parts reading it,

However, I still had to read it to find out what happens!

Does that make me bad?

It's not for the faint hearted or if you easily get upset, this was a tough read and an eye opener book!

I loved the cover and it just caught my eye!

Big Thank you to netgalley and BooksGoSocial for my copy for an honest review.
