Description
Sausages to kill for . . . The competition to go into business with Hernia's finest sausage makers is getting hotter than Magdalena Yoder's frying pan in this sizzling culinary cozy.
Schmucker Brothers' Sausages are the talk of the town. The good folk of Hernia are obsessed with the delectable meaty treats, and the prospect of going into partnership with the brothers is proving equally irresistible to investors far and wide, including Magdalena Yoder's current guests at the Penn-Dutch Inn - grocery store chain CEOs Christine Landis and Kathleen Dooley, restaurant owner Terry Tazewell, and Mr Duckworth Limehouse.
All four are in town to pitch a business deal to the Schmuckers. But after a visit to the brothers' pork factory, one of the would-be investors is found slaughtered back at the inn, and Mags must catch a murderer intent on turning her guests juicy pork dreams to rashers! Could there be more to the Schmuckers' sausages than meets the eye?

Magda’s current guests at her Inn are hoping to do business with the local Schmucker Brothers who sausages are the big weiner! When one of Magda’s guests is dead at her inn, she must find out who butchered them and prevent another disaster before it occurs.
Only Magda could make the premise of this book work, but then again, only Magda can pull a lot of the things in her books off. Man, I love me some Magda! If you have not read one of the books in this series yet, you are missing out! Magda is like the Stephanie Plum of the Mennonite community and you will find you love her as much as I do. She’s funny, quirky, has a sharp wit and can be a little naught at times…and that’s what makes her so lovable and enjoyable!
Absolutely love this series!!! I've long said there needs to be a TV series of these books! Filled with delightful humor! Magic is one quirky character that I love! Another great plot filled with lots of twists and turns. Excellent story line. Another home run! Thanks#netgalley and #SevernHouse for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine.
Slaughter Amidst Sausages..
The twenty fourth in this enjoyable series finds Magda amidst much culinary competition. Super sausages are the name of the game and the stakes, it seems, are high. When a slaughter in the sausage factory raises eyebrows, Magda gets to work. With a pacy plot peppered with humour, eccentric characters coming out of the woodwork and a feisty protagonist this is another successful and entertaining entry in the madcap adventures of Magda.
The latest in the Pennsylvania-Dutch long running series, with each story complete in itself. As usual, it's a triumph of wit and invention, with heroine and much put upon In owner Magda to the fore. One of the very best cozy mystery series around; with each character well defined and sufficiently idiosyncratic to be implanted clearly in the reader's mind., As usual, great fun, lots of laughs - and not a bad mystery either!
Four of Magdalena Yoder's current guests at the Penn- Dutch Inn, are there to compete with each other in pitching business deals with Schmucker Brothers' sausage. When one of the guests is murdered at her Inn, Magdalena puts her detective skills to good use to help the sheriff find the killer. This was a fun cozy with plenty of humor and lots of red herrings. I just love Magdalena and her quirky best friend Agnes.
A different read!
This is the first in the series that I have read and it’s certainly a quirky read.
Magda runs a guesthouse and one of her guests is found dead.
What ensues is a fun and unconventional story .
Magda is a great character and certainly has her own style.
An enjoyable cosy mystery .
Thanks to NetGalley and Severn House.
Another delightful entry into a long running series that's perfectly enjoyable as a standalone. Magdalena (Magda) is once again investigating a murder, this time of a potential investor in the local sausage factory. Who in Hernia would have done this? No one escapes Magda's firm eye and,, with the help of her friend Agnes, she solves the crime, I like this series, which admittedly gets a little hectic at times, for the setting and the characters more than for the mysteries. Thanks to netgalley for the ARC. A good cozy read.
Such a cozy light hearted mystery. I love me a good mystery set in a small ton. This book felt like a familiar friend. I haven’t had a chance to read any of the other books in this series but I definitely have them on my list now!
