The first book in a brand-new WWI saga series.

Crumford, Kent, 1914

There are rumours of war besetting the country but sisters Daisy, Violet and Holly Graham have other things on their minds. With the family smock mill keeping them busy and the local brewer boys turning their heads, the girls are looking forward to a summer of fun.

But their plans soon come crashing to the ground as war is declared. As their brothers, Asa and Clem, and the three Brewer lads Ren, Alder and Rosen, all volunteer to do their part for the war effort and are shipped off, the women are left with the problem of how to keep the business running.

With the men away at war, and life increasingly hard, will the Graham girls find the answers they're looking for? And when long-held secrets are revealed could their lives change forever . . .

When does the next one come out?!

It was refreshing to read a book set around wartime taking on a new angle of a vital wartime industry. The characters were all very easy to relate to and likeable in a friendly type way. They each came to life in different ways with their own personal stories and characters shining through. The triplets brought a great element to the story and I hope we learn more about the two brothers working for the Government in war roles.

There were lots of twists and turns throughout the book that I didn't see coming and kept the reader interesting!

As a big cat lover I loved the introduction of Wicket!

Thank you Anna Cliffe for a brilliant read and I look forward to more!

Such a uplifting read, a new series and a new author for me, The Graham Sisters, WW1 1914.
Kentish Town Crumford, And Daisy works hard in the family business in the bakery and tearoom, her father Jared works the mill making the flour and mother Cynthia keeps all the family in order at The Old Creaky Graham Mill.
Ren Brewer in Daisy's eyes is perfect for her as she dreams of a courtship a marriage and children then Britain makes its declaration of war and every man should do his duty, she will miss her brothers and Ren and the sisters have to pull together to keep the business ticking over.
This book is such a heart warming read right through as we get to know the characters, I enjoyed and loved it all and look forward to more from the Graham sisters.
