When the monsters start misbehaving it’s a monster hunter’s job to sort them out!

In their second adventure Jack, his best friend Nancy and Stoop (a grumpy, 200-year-old monster hunter) head up to Scotland after reports of some mysterious monsters causing chaos in an ancient abbey. This is brilliant! From page one, you know this is special. The story is about 10 year old Jack "battling" the monsters he comes across, to keep the world safe.

The style of writing is redolent of Lemony Snicket, with his little asides, wonderful use of vocabulary and hilariously named characters. The "nuns" made me laugh every time they appeared.

I hadn't heard the first book, so I'll be looking out for that 🙂
