This book is absolutely adorable. My two year olds love it. It have lots of fun things on each page to look at. They love to hunt and find so this was a hit. They also like friendly monsters so this book was a winner over here.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC!. This was an adorable story for monster and vehicle loving readers. The illustrations are bright and colorful which makes it very appealing for younger readers. I enjoyed the rhyming throughout the book and I think this is a great intriduction to rhyming for young readers. Going back and finding the ladybug in every page was fun too- a bonus surprise!
I read this to my son who really enjoyed it.
He doesn’t have the patience to sit through stories that are long, so the short and sweet sentences made this reading experience a success.
My oldest son enjoyed going back through the book to search for the lady bug on each page. He giggled at the monsters driving construction vehicles.
Oh my goodness, this is such a cute book! My son just read it with me and there were full-body laughs happening. The illustrations are wonderful and really grab your attention with all the details in them. I love the rhymes that are on each page too.
I loved this book! The illustrations are so fun, and the rhyming is so cute. My kids loved it and will definitely want to read over and over again. We also really enjoyed the hidden ladybugs. Overall very fun and entertaining!
Monsters in Trucks is a really bright, adventurous book. It reminded me of a more vibrant Secret World of Richard Scarry. I found it interesting that the prompt to find the ladybug was at the end of the book, which would make a child read the book again!
Such a fun book! The pictures of the monsters are great and are sure to invoke lots of diverse language from kids. This would be a great book to target descriptive words in speech therapy. I also love the added bonus of the search for the lady bug! So cute!
Oh my gosh, what’s not to love about this? My kids are already asking for their own copy!
Doesn’t every young child enjoy monsters, trucks, and bright colors? This would be a great book for preschoolers through elementary ages. The illustrations are top notch!
As a teacher, this book could do so many things. Younger grades will enjoy the the monsters, trucks, and rhyming, while older kids could learn about adjectives! It would even be great for modeling how authors use adjectives to help the reader visualize the text. My teacher brain is always looking at what I can do with a book and this one did disappoint.
P.S love the surprise at the end. 🤭
Absolutely adorable. The bright colors, and rhyming will be perfect to share with my younger readers, especially my special education classes who will love the funny cute monsters and pace of the story. I will be purchasing this one for my school library, for sure.
This book is written with sick a catchy rythym That easily makes it an entertaining book to read. Couple that with the Colorful illustrations, this is bound to become an instant favorite!
what a really fun book with fun illustrations!! it doesn't really have plot, just showing different kind of monsters in truck and the things they do. I think it would be more fun if this book was made into a song. It also have a surprise at the end that made me immediately want to flip the book again from the beginning.
Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children's Books for allowing me to be an early reader. All opinions are my own.
A super fun and colorful children's book about monsters in trucks. My boys love both so of course they were huge fans of this book. I love the bright and bold colors. The last page has a fun extra activity asking if you can spot a ladybug in every scene. So we immediately reread to find the ladybugs. The illustrations had Richard Scarry vibes!
This is a perfect book for classrooms and early readers.
I absolutely love this book. Some of the words are hard to find because there's just so much on each page, but the illustrations really drew me in and I will definitely be purchasing this book!
This book is absolutely adorable and I will be buying if for my grandsons when it publishes! We read ebook together and they loved all the different vehicles that were featured.
The best part was the end where we were asked to find a ladybug on each page. They loved going back though the book to find out.
This book is the cutest! The drawings, whimsical and cute drawings make this book super adorable! Of course, the short story is cute also, but the drawings really set the mood here! Kids love all kinds of little monsters, and cute little monsters that fill every page of this book make this a special and fun read! Also, you can absolutely use the little monsters to name emotions. Each monster has a different facial expression. For added fun, you can try guessing what each monster does when they are not doing their monster activities with trucks and find your favorite monster on each page.
