Really fun read. Loved the illustrations. 5*.
I love that the ghost is called Blandon. I was laughing so hard. The picture of him inhaling chilis was adorable.
Do what you need to little ghost friend!
Cute! This was a fun story for kids and Halloween themed! I also loved the art throughout
I think this is a great story for early readers.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the eARC! This book had be intrigued just by the title! A fun spin on Halloween (with the ghost), and what happens when he eats spicy food. The name of the ghost was clever as well. There was lots of rhyming as well throughout the book. The illustrations of the characters look computer animated which is different as well- it made them stand out on the page.
The Spicy Ghost was such a cute and fun book! My kid really enjoyed it and found it quite funny as well. Love the rhyming and vibrant, colorful pictures. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

The Spicy Ghost tells the story of an adorable little ghost who lovessss to eat spicy food, even though sometimes his friends find it a little bit weird. This love for spicy faces the little ghost and his friends with a lot of interesting adventures. He manages to scare off a tourist, join a festival and create many new friendships.
This picture book is great for teaching children about kindness and friendship. It shows how supporting friends is an important aspect of life, recognizing the impact it has on us and our friends.
The illustrations are great, and the text is rhymed and easy to read. However, the narration and the plot seemed just slightly forced. I personally think the book includes too many events and not many solutions to problems, as we will expect with children’s books. This results in a slight difficulty to follow the plot and understand the idea of the story. Apart from this, everything in the book is great.
I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it to children aged 3+ who love funny and adventurous stories.
I love spicy food so of course I enjoyed this little rhyming picture book. I love the illustrations and the storyline of this book. The abundance of color makes it much more enjoyable. I have many nieces and nephews who enjoy very spicy food so I'd be recommending this book to their parents!
Thank you to NetGalley and Publishers for this ecopy of The Spicy Ghost.
The Spicy Ghost was an enjoyable read. The illustrations were really lovely and the colours really popped off the page.
I thought the story of Blandon the ghost liking spicy foods was interesting. I loved that Blandon was anything but bland.
The words with their rhyming made this easy to read out loud.
My 4 year old really loved getting involved, whilst we were reading together and this book was no exception-He loved it. It's good to be different.
Blandon loves to eat hot peppers. He puts them in every meal, even his ice cream wasn't spared. The sad thing was he caused the people to run away after eating. It was a fun read with Blandon and his pals.
I received a copy of this book through Netgalley. This is my honest review.
This was a cute rhyming story with some serious Casper the Friendly Ghost vibes to it. Blandon just likes to eat food that would give the average human a major ulcer (probably, I'm not a doctor). This leads to people thinking that he's angry, or scary, or just plain mean. But he's really just misunderstood because he likes his food to have some flavor, and that is a little odd for those of us that are as white as a ghost.
The illustrations in this book were very bright and colorful, and I loved the font used for the narration, especially the way color and size was changed for emphasis. While I don't typically look for those things in novels that I read as an adult, for a children's book, it's a really nice touch that I appreciate. Overall I give this book 4.13 out of 5 stars.
This is the first book I've read about spicy foods and I really love it! I think it will really help kids open up about the different kinds of foods out there and that not all foods taste yucky!
