This is a important book/journal everyone one should have and write in. My mother died way to young and as I get older I wish I had answer to a lot of questions I have about our family history and health issues . If we would have had this journal I would have been able to reference it now to answer some of the question I have today. Do yourself a favor and get this. I will be filling this out and handing it down to my children. Thank you netgalley
I was immediately attracted to the book title for this one, and pleasantly surprised with the product. It’s a thick book with tons and tons of great questions to ask and fill out and I really enjoyed reading through it and seeing all the questions and prompts.
The book itself is formatted in a workbook style allowing readers / users to answer questions on the page itself and it’s handy to have all the information stored in one place. It covers absolutely everything in life - from family history, growing up, falling in love, medical questions, growing older, letters to loved ones, advice and of course a family tree section.
As a newer mom of a one year old, I found myself already itching to fill it out for my own kiddo!
Thanks to NetGalley and the author for the arc to read and provide my voluntary review.
Do you ever wish that you knew more about your mom? Wish that there was an easy way to preserve some of her stories? If so, this book is a perfect way to achieve your goal.
This book consists of a series of prompts. There are twelve chapters and topics. Just a few of these include Your Family Tree, Falling in Love and, Facing Adversity. What follows in each is a series of short answer questions. For example, “Did you visit your grandparents as a child, and what things would you do while there?” Another, “What were your family’s favorite festive and/or religious celebrations?” And one more, “What is your life motto?” Of course, there are many additional topics in the book.
This journal would make a lovely family keepsake. I think that parents will want to answer the questions as they will enjoy knowing that their child(ren) are interested in who they are.
Many thanks to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for this title. All opinions are my own.
Mom Share Your Life Story book is way more detailed then I had expected it to be. That is a good thing. There were questions I would never even think to ask my own mother.
Understandably like most things you tend to forget over time so there were questions that would ultimately be left blank but other people may very well remember those that someone like myself forgets so it is great that there are so many questions.
I can tell a lot of thought has went into this journal and it will make a great keepsake for later in life for not just tour child(or children) but theirs as well and so on.
This book reminds me of a questionnaire you would complete in school for a project or essay, or when making a family tree. Questions including your great-great-grandparents, emigration, previous spouses, hobbies, etc.
Would be a good tool if you are wanting to chronicle your mother's life in a quick and easy format. I also enjoyed the light colours and delicate illustrations.
With great starter subjects and questions this book is a great way to get your mom‘s story or for moms to leave theirs for their children. I think a hard copy of this book or even paperback would be a great gift for Mother’s Day birthdays and even Christmas I wish I would’ve had this around when my grandmother was still alive but I will definitely not let this opportunity pass without putting one of these books in my family. This is a great idea and I only hope they come out with the fathers version soon. I received this book from Net Galley and the publisher but I am leaving this review voluntarily please forgive any mistakes as I am blind and dictate my review.
