A funny book that teaches children the importance of hygiene... in a way?
It was definitely a funny story, and the illustrations were gorgeous!
I will say that I felt the book was a little bit short, and the pages had quite a bit of text on them, something my niece and nephew tend to get bored of in picture books.
All-in-all, this was an entertaining story that had a subtle lesson attached.
Quick Summary: Playful and self-empowering
My Review: My Foot Has a Nose: A Hilarious and Educational Children's Book on Foot Hygiene and Care by Krystaelynne Sanders Diggs and illustrated by Ana Barbosa was a charming introduction to the proper management and care of the feet for littles. Built around the premise of hygienic awareness and cleanliness, this book educates the young on the importance of following a proper regimen for good foot health.
What I Loved About This Book: The simple rhyming quality presented in the book was appealing. It was entertaining enough to keep my attention and did much to make me want to continue reading. The visual artistry was colorful and engaging. Every illustrated element seemed precise and appropriate to the message being conveyed.
My Final Say: This was a wonderfully funny take on foot care, with the child in mind. I think families will appreciate the lesson in this book. Likewise, I think kids will find it easy to digest and non-threatening.
Rating: 4.5/5
Recommend: Yes
Audience: Ages 4 and up
Other: This would be a great resource for public health offices and clinics, schools, for early learning reading circles for pre-K and lower elementary-aged students sponsored by the public library system, and for families (in general).
Thank you to the author, to the illustrator, to the publisher (BooksGoSocial), and to NetGalley, who provided access to this title in exchange for an honest review. The words I have shared are my own.
This is a silly story of a kid whose feet grow a face and teaches him about hygiene. It’s a unique way to educate and encourage good hygiene with facts over fear.
A fun quick read. I loved the simple writing day easy for young children to engage with and keep their focus. The illustrations were very fun and understandable. I loved how vivid all the colours were which makes it even more engaging.
Krystaelynne S. Diggs writes books to help children learn to advocate for themselves such as Where Do Hands Go, and The ABCs of Consent. I was pleasantly surprised by this silly, goofy book about foot hygiene. An unnamed kids wakes up one morning to see that his foot has sprouted a nose! He tries to ignore it, but the next morning, his feet have sprouted eyes!
I bet kids will fall in love with this silly, goofy book about cleaning your feet well.
Fun illustrations and text. This would be a hit with preschoolers. Thank you NetGalley for providing an advanced reader copy of the book for an honest review.
It's a fun read, but it's a little unsettling to think about our feet having eyes, noses, and mouths. however I enjoy the concept of this book, which is the significance of keeping your feet clean.
This is the second book I have read by this author, and it is absolutely adorable. The illustrations perfectly match the text and will be a hit with any young child. The pictures are so cute, they are already worth the price of the book!
The author also does a terrific job of getting her message across through the rhyming text, which will be easy to read and understand, even for young kids.
All in all, this story teaches children important lessons about foot hygiene in a very engaging fashion. Indeed, it does so without making it seem as though it is trying to teach them anything at all.
I loved it, and I highly recommend it to anyone with kiddos in a suitable age range.
This is perfect for kids to learn about foot hygiene without scaring them and also in a fun/humorous way. It felt goofy with the kid in the book when he feels something sprouting on his foot and he has no clue what to do about it. Very educational and is to the point! The illustrations work perfect with the story and tries to provide clarity on science behind as well.
Thank you to the Publisher and NetGalley for the eARC! This is a cute book about the importance of keeping your feet clean.
An interesting book to teach foot hygiene. Kinda amused by the eye on the leg. Thanks netgalley for the opportunity to read it
My son adored this book. He had no clue he had to wash between his toes! This is a funny way to show. Good hygiene, routines
This little guy was a strange one but interesting. This book shows kids that dirty and stinky feet are an embarrassment. Having good hygiene was the key to being comfortable around others.
This is an extremely cute and educational book about how to keep your feet nice and clean. I liked that the feet started to look like monsters and then disappeared after he took a bath. I'm going to buy this book for my niece and nephew. I would recommend this book for anyone who has children that are afraid of the bathtub.
I thought that this book was really good – I have read a few books by this author now and she always does an excellent job and raising some harder to breach subjects with children.
This book covers the topic of hygiene and in the book the little boy wakes up from his sleep with a nose on his foot, it then develops eyes and a mouth too…!!
The illustrations in the book were perfect and worked really well with the story.
It is 5 stars from me for this one – a great way to cover the subject of personal hygiene with a fun story - very highly recommended!
A funny and humorous kids book about foot hygiene, I wondered where the story was going initially but it did make me chuckle at the end.
Who knew a book about foot hygiene could be cute and entertaining? Apparently, it can, as shown by this adorable and informative storybook for young readers. The illustrations provided by Ana Barbosa are cute as well.

As a mom and a teacher I feel I could share this book in either setting. I really loved the illustrations and that it rhymes. It was a cute book to teach the importance of washing your feet!
This was a book I read to a few of my speech students and it was simple and straightforward perfect for comprehension and vocabulary. It also can help with creating a visual presence on how to take care or your feet. Overall fun book would highly recommend. 4 out of 5 stars
This was a very silly book. The 2 year old loved it! Great way to help teach kids the importance of being clean.
A fantastic book about foot hygiene! A visual representation of what will “happen” to your feet if you don’t clean them!
Feet are something children don’t always think about cleaning, even though that’s where the most dirt will be!
Fabulous illustrations making the point of the story. Great facts to help children understand the point of washing and taking care of their feet
Cute and funny book about how a child's foot has a nose. In reality it is teaching children great hygiene and what could happen if they do not wash up the way they need to.
