We loved this book!

I am going to start my review with a confession – I read this book myself and I really enjoyed it (yes I know I am way above the age range but it was cute and Christmas and I loved looking for the Santa Monster!)!!

After I had finished I gave this book to my 5 year old daughter and asked her to read it to me – Oh my goodness she thought it was brilliant, she was giggling, laughing at the monsters being silly and she just loved the illustrations. It was a lovely flowing book and she read it all without any help from me on the words so that made it even more enjoyable for her. She also loved finding the Santa Monster too and had to do that on each page before she would read the pages!

It is 5 stars from me for this one – very highly recommended and a perfect Christmas book for little ones – we will definitely be reading it again nearer the big day, fab, fun and engaging!

This was a very cute story! I read it to my seven year old, but I think it would also be appropriate for a younger child, and will likely also read it to my two year old. My son loved the book and commented throughout on the silly monsters. When we got to the end of the story, we had to go back to the beginning to find the Santa monster, which was a lot of fun and something we both completely missed the first time around. Altogether, a children's book I would recommend to anyone with young children!

Did you ever wonder just how many monsters there can be at Christmas? This book will introduce you and your little one to tiny monsters and hairy monsters, the twinkle monster and many many more. The pages are colorful and have a lot of characters on them so there is plenty to look at. The book is festive and Christmas themed but could be enjoyed at any time of the year.

Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group - Frances Lincoln Children's Books for the advanced readers copy (ARC) of Monsters at Christmas by Laura Baker. Christmas has always been one of my favorite holidays, especially as a child, so I was happy to be approved to read this book. I received this book for free in exchange for my honest review.

Perfect for children that are toddlers, this book is perfect to help kids learn how to read with all the rhyming sentences. It's a bit reminiscent of a Dr. Seuss book. I like the fact that the book shows kids that monsters aren't always scary and can enjoy activities that others enjoy.

The illustrations were fantastic and fun to look at. At the end of the book, the author asks if we saw the "Christmas Monster" in each scene. I didn't even notice that this character appeared in all the scenes, so it was enjoyable to go back to find him. It was a little like a "Where's Waldo" book.

Five out of five stars is what I gave Monsters at Christmas by Laura Baker and illustrated by Nina Dzyvulska. If you're looking for a book to put you and your child in the mood for the Christmas holiday, then this is the perfect book for that.

Thank you so much to Quarto Publishing / Frances Lincoln and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.

A hilarious rhyming picture book all about monsters at Christmas time, getting ready for the holiday.

This was absolutely hilarious mostly because of the illustrations, each page had so much going on you could spend hours looking at each page and continue to find something new and hilarious going on. I loved the illustrations in this picture book, they were perfection.

The story itself was really fun, each page had a different topic of Christmas on it, with it rhyming everything was so perfectly created and was really fun to read. I really enjoyed this whimsical hilarious Christmas book, it’s so different to any of the others that I’ve read.

This book would be an absolute hit with younger children, there is so much to gain from it, from how funny it is, how fun the rhymes are, to the amount of crazy happenings going on in the illustrations, to the can you find the Santa monster on each page that you get at the end. I really think this is one that children should have around the holiday they will have so much fun.
