It took the murder of Lisa Clark, a young reporter to force Sally Scott out of her isolated life of grieving widow.

We now meet Sally restored to her family, with a new romantic relationship, and fully engaged in her career as an accountant to a growing list of small business clients.

When Lisa’s aunt Susan, asks Sally to help finish her niece’s exposé, she’s intrigued. Over the past year and a half, while the murder was being investigated, they had become friends. And Sally’s curiosity continues to tweak her into wanting to know more about the Rafkin family and their possible additional crime of money laundering.

Sally is warned by not only Jace Logan, the detective who caught the murderous family members, but her own family to stay away from any further involvement with the Rafkins, a Mob family with a history of criminal activities going back almost one hundred years.

Believing that she’d be safe with the murders in jail, Sally agrees to help research the book that got Lisa Clark killed. After all she’d be doing her research on computers, not with actual criminals.

Once again, would Sally’s curiosity get her into trouble?
