Thanks to Netgalley and Quarto publishing group for access to this Arc in exchange for my honest review.

All these little drawings are so cute !! I love how the steps are simplified for those who are not born with artistic talents 🤣 (like me). I've tried a few and the result was not bad at all!!

Oh my goodness! This book is too cute!! I love Olga’s Instagram account so I knew I would adore her book too! I am no artist but I feel like the instruction is fairly clear though there were a few that seemed to jump a step. I wish there was more information about shading and colouring but you can use the illustrations for ideas of course. I especially loved the Cute Animals chapter (squirrels, platypus and koalas being the standouts for me!). I also loved the Bakery section especially the marshmallow with the adorable little face and the strawberry jam. I can’t wait to try more of the cute designs. Definitely a book I will sit down and play around with mores it’s super relaxing to sketch these cute little illustrations.

To preface this review: I am not an artist. By any means. I usually can’t even draw convincing stick figures.

But, I love cute food and items art and was hopeful that this book could help. And it definitely did!

The art style is absolutely adorable and the step by step instructions are easy to follow and definitely are doable by people of all ability levels. The book showcases a variety of little things to draw - from animals to foods to school supplies!

I definitely recommend this for anyone looking to practise drawing!

Thanks very much to the publisher and to NetGalley for providing me with an eARC in exchange for my honest review!

This book starts by focusing on the tools and techniques recommended by the author. This is with regards to physical drawing as opposed to digital drawing however I imagine the sketching skills would easily transfer.

The book is in the style of kawaii with cute colourful sketches. There’s a number of chapters including the kitchen (and food), bakery/cafe (and baked goods), Japanese themed items, garden, cute animals, school, seasons,

This is one of the most comprehensive drawing books I’ve seen with a huge variety of items to try

If there's one thing to know about me, I'm instantly drawn to anything cute. If there's another thing, I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to learn how to draw and create art. So naturally, this book is everything I love (and need). The art style is absolutely adorable, and Olga Ortiz does a beautiful job at teaching!

The instructions are clear, and I love that there are step-by-step pictures to follow so that I can look at the imagery even when I think a step may have been missed. I especially loved that there was a wide variety of things to draw. Sweet Drawing is a guide I will definitely come back to and sit down with and use as a resource as I try to learn how to draw.

Each one has a step by step to follow, adding more detail each time. This is a lovely book to help you bring all sorts of animals, food items, and objects to life in your sketchbook. My favourite is the ‘In The Bakery’ chapter - cute and delicious! Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely charming! I loved this one, the illustrations and instructions are clear and approachable. There is a greater level of detail in the authro/illustrator's style than is present in many similar books, which tend toward minimalism. Super fun and something I look forward to incorporating into my own art projects as well as sharing with my very creative daughter.

Gah! I about jumped out of my chair when I saw this on Netgalley, so thank you so much for allowing me to preview this advanced copy of this book, Quarto Publishing.

I have had the German version of Olga Ortiz’s book as long as it’s been released and it is literally always in my bag. Olga’s steps are so visually easy to follow that I adore even a version I can’t read. I have used Google translate when I want to see what insights she has, but it is a pain. I always told her on Instagram, when she releases an English version it’s an instant buy.

I had no idea she was releasing a print English version, but Quarto - you are seriously my hero publishing house! I immediately requested the NetGalley version so I could peruse it AND put in my request for the English version.

I recommend the version book to my English speaking friends all the time and can’t wait to shove this in hands as swiftly as possible. It will be in many gift baskets.

Thank you for this amazing book!!

So many cute ideas with step instructs step by us to make drawing approachable. I've attempted a few of the drawings and they were cute and easy though no where near perfect but a lot of fun t0 do.

I really love the artist's style, especially the lighter outlines that match the colouring.

There are a ton of examples in here on how to draw cute things with markers or digitally in procreate or other drawing programs.

I'd say this is for beginners who know how to draw and see shapes well already and who have experience with color matching and shading.

Very cool book! Definitely check this out if you like spot drawings. This could help you a lot if you do sticker design.

What a delight this book was! I had the opportunity to share it with my 10yo granddaughter (who loves to draw). She loved it, and she's a hard sell. The drawings are so cute, and I especially love that there were groupings, such as food items, outdoor items, etc. So, if someone wanted to make a whole drawing of various items, they have the tools. I adored this book, and I'm going to preorder.
Thank you to the author, Quarto Publishing, and Net Galley for a digital ARC of this title in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own.

Another cute book by Olga Ortiz! I love the cute drawing style and easy to follow instructions. This may be meant for young drawers but I’m an experienced graphic designer and enjoyed every bit of it. Olga Ortiz walks you through the elements of “cute” such as eye placement, etc. so you can use the principles of these cute, sweet drawings for other work. Highly recommend!

Sweet Drawings by Olga Ortiz was my first introduction into learning to draw kawaii style. I appreciated the tips at the beginning of the book, the theme-based organization of the illustrations, and the visual step-by-step instructions. It was a lot of fun showing my 4 year old my attempts at the drawings. She thought they were great!

This is such an easy and simple how to book. I love it. It gives a great step by step guide on how to draw each thing but it doesn’t just give you one option such as watermelon it shows you how to not just a watermelon but also honeydew melon. My favourite section was on the garden as I’m a big plant person but honestly I sat down with my 8 year old nephew and he was able to understand and follow the steps to draw each thing
Would highly recommend to anyone

My children and I really enjoyed following along with this book.

There are plenty of cute pictures, with easy to follow steps.

The pictures provided are for things like bubble tea and sweet deserts that aren't always in the usual books like this.

I have started keeping a journal of sorts and wanted to add cute doodles in the margins. Sweet Drawing immediately caught my eye. Olga Ortiz’s has a style that is simple and adorable. Her instructions and tips are easy to follow and recreate. Using colored pencils to draw the outlines was a game changing tip. Grab a copy of this for new artists or your journal kit. Practicing my food drawing right now.
