Super super cute! I’m such a novice at drawing but this made things so simple and easy to follow! Now just to work on perfecting my skills so I can make more cute things!

Those are such cute drawings!!! I don't know if I have talent enough to get to that level but this book seems to give the steps to reach that level ! I specially love the kawaii mermaid 🥰🥰. Pff to the drawing table.

The kids absolutely loved drawing the mini kawaii kitties and now they got to try other kawaii cartoons! They really loved it and found it much easier than trying to draw other cartoons or characters they know.

Incredibly cute. Whilst it's definitely more for digital drawing, I think with a pen and pencil you can definitely do some cute kawaii doodles too. Great images and lots of steps. Loved it

If there's one thing to know about me, I'm instantly drawn to anything cute. If there's another thing, I've been trying (unsuccessfully) to learn how to draw and create art. So naturally, this book is everything I love (and need). This guide covers everything from proportions to movement and even certified cute (by me) expressions. It goes over people, food, and animals, covering all areas regarding making something "kawaii." I especially love how it delves into the history and the "fundamentals of cuteness," it's all very interesting and good to know. I highly recommend it to all learners interested in this art style!

This book is adorable. The whole layout and the drawings are so cute (as the title says) and I love the way it's designed and the colours and how the drawings are explained step by step. If you like to draw and you like to draw cute little things, this book is definitely for you.

This is adorable! The sketching instructions and illustrations are clear, simple, and easy to follow - perfect for a total beginner for me. Each one has a step by step to follow, adding more detail each time. This is a lovely book to help you bring all sorts of animals, food items, and objects to life in your sketchbook. My favourites are the cute cakes and cute snacks - cute and delicious!

I am a sucker for all things kawaii'ish! I wanted to spend a little time with this book, and let my kids spend some time with this book alongside me, to see how they enjoyed it, before reviewing it, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it! The drawings were fun, absolutely adorable, and achievable but not so easy that it wasn't fun to try to achieve. I love drawings that I know I can do (I'm not the most artistic person in the world), but that still present some challenge to me so that I feel a sense of accomplishment when I'm done. This provided that for me, and provided the cute factor that my kids so desperately NEED from me and from all things at this stage in their childhood!

I seriously love these Quarto published cartoon books. So much thought and work on the artist’s side goes into them and this one is no different.

There are a plethora of different Kawaii drawing projects along with meticulous step by steps on how to draw them from beginning to end.

Highly recommend for anyone who is into cute drawings or just want a good gift.

I had so much fun learning how to draw cute Kawaii characters from this adorable book! I am definitely a beginner and I felt confident to try my hand at it with the simple step by step instructions provided. I was able to create some very cute illustrations fairly quickly and was so happy with the results! I find it super relaxing too to sit down and work on a new project and am looking forward to trying more out soon.

The book itself is just fun to look through with the adorable illustrations but is also filled for all the information you need to get started with some discussion on materials both for digital or by hand. I appreciated this as I don’t really have any art supplies around and it helped to know what would it wouldn’t work thanks to the authors experience. She also goes over the elements of Kawaii like proportion and expression and shading to bring more detail and depth to your drawings. I really appreciated this section since I’m so new to drawing and need all the information I can get for when I move past the projects in the book and into creating my own characters or drawings.

Overall, a wonderful book to learn some new skills in drawing cute Kawaii illustrations. I would highly recommend it to anyone that wants to try but has no idea where to start.

This is a book that I’m going to have to buy in physical format, it’s so cute and cozy, super easy to follow and I found the tips about the use of iPads and apps to draw on really helpful, Iv not known where to start with ipad drawing apps for what feels like forever and now I have some great directions.
I love that the author shares all their recommendation for brands of pens and papers to use, it feels like you’re getting all the trade secrets!
The art projects are super cute, easy to follow step by step and will make anyone feel like an artist!
Definitely one il be buying as gifts this Christmas and something that could be used time and time again.

I loved all of the ideas and the stepby instructions that were easy to follow along with. The different tutorials with The proportions use for kawaii drawing make it easy to get creative as well.

Great details and instructions. I also loved how the author had photos of her favorite materials and programs she used in the beginning along with if they tended to have a free trial or not. I also enjoyed the layout of this book a lot it flowed very easily. Very easy to follow and draw your own cute characters! OMG how much cuteness is this?! This book is for anyone — not just young people who want to draw cute things! I’m an old-timer, graphic designer, and this is not my style but one I’d love to learn how to do for fun. The layout of this is so engaging, and, who doesn’t need more cuteness in their life? I love the sushi section. I will definitely spend some time going through these tutorials on my iPad. Thanks to the author for sharing such cute drawings step by step. I’ll be looking up the other books in this series or by this author.

In Castaneda's Kawaii Drawing, we are offered a variety of super cute how to draws. I find that with a lot of kawaii how to draw books, the items feel repetitive, but in this book, all the drawings feel fresh and new. So an original set of drawings for even a seasoned kawaii drawer.

The steps are clear and easy to follow also.

I don't know anything about drawing. I don't have much artistic talent. However, I do love doing little scribbles every once in a while. I've had some good drawings but I really need to see what I want to draw and have some guidance. I picked this up to help with my scribbling. I have to say this is awesome! The author takes you through her favorite materials and just really goes into detail on the different types of drawing you can do. I do love too that she shows you how to draw different things. You can learn how to draw people, animals, and food. There really is so many descriptions. If you're an inspiring artist or just want to draw for fun, I highly recommend checking this book out.

I absolutely loved this book! The step by step instructions are incredibly helpful with breaking down the building blocks for drawing in this style.

The front has wonderful references for proportions and even facial expressions. Everything is explained simply and with a hint of the artist/author’s personality.

Easy for my 9 and 7 year-olds to follow, this book is full of adorable designs to copy and try recreating. Favourites from my 9 year-old include Cute Sushi, Cute Little Frog, Kitty Girl and Frog Girl. My 7 year-old loves recreating the Cute Facial Expressions. My youngest tends to get impatient when drawing does not go her way but not with this book. It’s a gorgeous pastel theme with pages clearly laid out and easy to follow. There are some top tips on materials to use at the start of the book. All in all a wonderful, adorable book.
