Description
Career-driven Max Linney has finally gotten her life exactly where she wants it: a demanding-yet-meaningful job as a congressional staffer and a one-bedroom apartment in Washington, D.C., with her boyfriend. So when he dumps her, she’s not only surprised, she isn’t ready to let him go.
Easygoing digital nomad Micah Abrams wants his judgy and demanding family off his back. When he meets Max on a dating app and flies her to his temporary home for a strings-free date, sparks fly but so does a spontaneous solution for both of them: they’ll pretend to date each other long-distance to make her ex jealous, and Max will be Micah’s date for his sister’s wedding.
As Max starts to realize her ex only gives her breadcrumbs for love, Micah learns no matter how many cities he travels to, he can’t run away from his grief over his father’s death. But with Micah focused on the past and Max on a future with somebody else, can they ever be together somewhere in between?

I requested this Novella on NetGalley and was accepted. So here’s my review ❤️
It is Dual POV and written in the First Person (so that’s a bonus!).
Trope: Fake Dating
A short Novella that I thought it was just the usual romance. Turns out it’s more than that. This novella covers the subject of romance with the right amount of spice, anxiety and death of a parent (and the grief that comes with it).
I loved the way Alicia Wilder handled these subjects. I loved the fact that the author was straight forward about the way one might experiences anxiety. And how one might handle grief.
This book also helps you understand to put yourself and your needs first. And to just dump toxic people 🗑️
This brings me to my conclusion. Although it’s a novella - I think it’s a must read regardless your age since it covers great topics. It’s helpful but also fun!
Apparently, this is Alicia Wilde’s first romance and it was very well done. I look forward to reading more of this author’s work! ❤️
Book Review 📚
Bread Crumbs by Alicia Wilder - 4/5 ⭐
My first read from Wilder and although it's a short read, it was absolutely amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire plot of this and is was a breeze to read through.
The character development, specifically Max, was absolutely flawless. Her entire journey through this book was amazing. It's so real life and just "normal" for people to go through this. But it was portrayed amazingly well.
There is moments of laughter, moments of heartbreak and even love. I really enjoyed it. I hope to see more, BIGGER, from Wilder please!
Thank you to NetGalley and Author Collective for allowing me to read this ARC - this is an HONEST review from my own personal opinion.
