Description
"I read the first book in this series and I was blown away. This author is just fabulous …"-- Angel's Mommy
Just when things were finally looking up …
Belle Cosgrove is incredibly frustrated. Four years after the death of her young husband, she's finally managed to box up her grief and guilt and move on, having convinced herself she neither wants nor deserves another relationship. But now that her massage clinic is thriving, she's just adopted a dog, and the future is looking bright, her new found peace is threatened by disturbing notes and gifts from an anonymous stalker.
Huckleberry Ridge police officer, Woody Bannock, has decided it's much safer to maintain the status quo as a bachelor than risk adding to the long list of women he's managed to disappoint in the past—including his own mother. He's got a job he loves, a place of his own and a dog who adores him. But when he's asked to check into Belle's stalking allegations, he's thrown off kilter by his powerful attraction to the charming and vulnerable red-head.
Despite the magnetism between them, the reasons for not becoming entangled are much stronger, and both shy away from any commitment. Even after Belle's stalker escalates, she hesitates to involve Woody for fear of further wounding her already damaged heart.
When her safety is truly threatened, she has no choice but to trust him … but is it too late?
Don't miss the final book of the clean, suspenseful Huckleberry Ridge Romance series!
Advance Praise
"This is the fourth book in the Huckleberry Ridge series, but each one can be read as a standalone. It's the first book in the series that I have read and the first book by K.T. Raine I've read. And it has left me interested in reading more of her books because it was so good!
There was such a level of sweetness between the characters and I absolutely loved the grumpy/sunshine trope that was a central theme. --Book Sirens
I found this book was both an excellent romance as well as a mystery. Someone is leaving small gifts and notes and Belle does not know who. Woody is a police officer and when he meets Belle… magic. I really liked the pace of the book as well as the way the author told the story. This is an awesome story that left me smiling. --Book Sirens

If you are into clean, not insta-love romances with a little suspense and furry friends, then this is a book for you.
This is the first work by this author I read and I liked her writing style a lot. The pacing is good and despite it not being a lengthy book, we learn a fair number of things about the main characters. I liked the fact that there were no misunderstandings and one of them actually made a move. There was actual flirting which I see less often in romantic books than I’d expect and I appreciated it a lot, just like the fact that it took a lot more than one meeting to acknowledge there was something going on between them. I’ll probably read more of her books in the future.
The book is written in dual POV, 3rd person and has 0 🌶️.
I guess I’m not giving 5 🌟 because I believe there was room for some more development in this story, I’d have liked to maybe learn a bit more about Woody’s past relationships or simply see them interact a little longer because I like the chemistry.
I received a free copy of this book via NetGalley and I’m leaving a voluntary review.

There was such a level of sweetness between the characters and I absolutely loved the grumpy/sunshine trope that was a central theme. Belle and Woody had some instant chemistry. But the pacing was very well done and it didn't feel as rushed as many novels tend to do. That could be because this is a book within a series of clean romances. I love a good steamy read, but sometimes it's nice to also have the slow development as this one did.
When Belle starts getting creepy gifts from an unknown admirer, Woody steps in to make sure she stays safe. I thought the romance and the suspense were both really well written and the other characters have me wanting to go back and start the series from the beginning so I really get to know them all along with the world this author has created!
A lovely addition to this series, which can be read as a stand-alone. Clean slow burning romance that is realistic and heartwarming. Throw in a touch of suspense, a stalker and two of the cutest dogs and you have a feel good romance story.
This is book four in The Huckleberry Ridge Romance Series and it is Belle and Woody’s story. When Belle’s husband died four years ago she found it hard to move forward and is definitely not ready or want a relationship so she continues to make her massage clinic successful and with her dog she is now trying to live her life until she realised that she has a stalker and needs help before everything gets out of hand. Woody is a police corporal in Huckleberry Ridge and loves his job and his dog by his side and doesn’t need or want a relationship when he has everything that he needs. When Woody is asked to look into a stalker allegation and meets Belle he is shocked by his reaction to her but Belle and Woody try to keep there distance as much as they can especially as neither want a partner or commitment but when everything escalates and Belle is in danger will Woody be able to protect and keep her safe until the threat is dealt with, well you will just have to read this book to find out what the outcome will be for Belle and Woody in the end and if they will have a chance of a future together. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I really enjoyed reading it and look forward to reading more books in the future.
Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book. I have found a new favorite author! I loved loved this book. Woody a police officer is living in the small town, happy with his little dog cupcake. Belle seems to have a stalker and after an initial complaint she keeps running into Woody and the interactions are awkward. I loved this town, the characters, everything!! Great read that I didn't want to end.
I have read previous books by this author and I have to say that she is my favorite romantic suspense author. Her style is similar to Nora Roberts and I adore that her books always contain my favorite thing in the world DOGS. In this book we follow the story of Belle as she is a massage business owner and she has a unwanted secret admirer. It may be unwanted attention but she is also getting some wanted attention from a hot police officer. Will it turn out to be love?
