Description
The wrong path could leave you stuck in the dark. But if you find the answer, you are allowed to move onto the next bewildering riddle. Can you make it to the end?
This book puts your ingenuity and perseverance to the test as you solve puzzles and challenges to work out who the imposters are.
The 12 puzzles are set in the eerie Stranraer Castle in southwest Scotland, used as a military garrison during the Killing Times of the 17th century. They feature 12 different characters, all with detailed sketches, personalities, and backgrounds to immerse you in the larger-than-life narratives as they unfold.
With your eagle-eyed determination and the power of deductive reasoning, find out:
- Who is the mole who informed police of a climate activist group’s plans?
- Who leaked stories to the press about a politician?
- Who is a secret police informant in a mob?
- Who stole £20,000 from a bereaved family during the funeral?
- Who hacked a social media influencer and leaked a scandalous photo?
Answer these head-scratching questions by reading all there is to know about these curious characters, their lives, and possible motives.
And these are just some of the puzzling incidents to unravel in this thrilling read that keeps you on the edge of your seat, whether that seat be at home, on the go, or at a get-together. It’s perfect for cunning amateur detectives looking to flex their deduction muscles.

My husband and I are obsessed with puzzle books! This one was more difficult for me and it made it a great challenge. Would recommend if you enjoyed the Murderle books.
This is the type of book I would not normally buy or pay much attention to if I'm honest, but I LOVE logic puzzles and could not resist the thought of looking at these puzzles over coffee on the weekend. Unlike a traditional logic puzzle that's just a word problem, these puzzles include images, receipts, letters... they are much more immersive than the standard logic puzzle and they were a lot of fun to think about and find the answers.
My only complaint is that the book ended too quickly. There are only 12 puzzles to solve, so you'll get through this book quickly if you don't ration the puzzles, but they are great fun while you're working through them. They might even be fun to complete with someone else.
For those looking for a new type of puzzle, this collection will surely entertain you.

I absolutely love this one as it is so different from everything that I have read so far. It is extremely well-done. The puzzles will get you thinking. I am definitely buying this when it is out.
What a good idea!
This was such a good book to try and figure out who the imposters were in each chapter!
Lots of fun. The explanation was clear, and the chapters had varying difficulties.
I loved watching the television show the Traitors so I was excited to explore this puzzle book and see how to deduce who the imposter is.
I absolutely loved that this was almost like a book version of those crime solving games that have been so popular! Often when you find puzzle books the description sounds like you’re going to be solving a crime in some way and then it ends up being something completely unrelated but this one truly does what the description implies. With full evidence to analyze before you make your decision, this will test your skills and get you thinking!
This was a really fun and unique logic puzzle game - clearly done to appeal to the popularity of The Traitors series, although this is more of a ‘find the culprit’ type of game. we get 12 puzzles of varying difficulties, so if the concept sounds interesting it’s definitely worth a try!
Thank you to NetGally for providing this ARC.
This was a nice puzzle book that definitely challenged me! I would for sure recommend this book if you liked the Murdle books.
This is not your typical logic puzzle book! It will put your cognitive skills to the test with a challenging storyline of clues. It is unique, fun, and entertaining.
A very fun evening activity with family and friends!
We just grabbed a notebook to take notes while reading through the case files, and started contrasting what we knew and coming up with theories to discuss.
Got our traitor for case 1, and will be continuing our investigations sometime soon 🕵️
Thank you for the ARC
This book is genuinely genius! I loved the puzzles. Although I was great at figuring most of them out (4/12😂) I really did enjoy spending time figuring them out or at least trying to. It engaged my brain and it got me involved in the book! I highly recommend reading if you want to train your brain and use your wits to figure out the traitors!
I’m so excited by this book. There are many murder mystery books out there and this one I was able to get my hands on. It is set up so you can see all the evidence through all the different media’s. I’m a sucker for that already. This book has 12 different cases that will keep you busy for hours.
I worked on a couple of them and I know they would be fun to do with a friend too. With the texts, phone messages and police files and statements, you’ll be able to figure these cases out too.

I have not read a book like this in years! The stories were diverse with unique settings. The clues were interesting and intriguing. While I enjoyed reading it on my own, this would make a great book club read for those who love solving mysteries and crimes. Very thought provoking and fun!
