The vibrant colors and rhyme are engaging and fun! Happy ending. Great to read with kids, especially in the springtime!
I enjoyed entering the whimsical world of the Oogly Boogly Googly Goose who would do anything to protect her eggs.
Found this book to be very entertaining, colourful and engaging. Will definitely read this to my little one again.
Your kids will enjoy all the wonderfully descriptive rhyming; it reminded me of The Wonky Donkey book, which I love. Since the rhyming and story flow so well, it’s easy to read the text in silly voices, especially the parts with the fox. The pictures are bright and colorful. The font choice for most of the text is a bit difficult to read. This book is ideal for younger children, including those learning to read. As such, an easy-to-read print font would have been best.
Additionally, I don’t know that children would mind it, but if the author included traditional non-digital AI-looking illustrations, the images would have been more aesthetically pleasing. I understand that conventional illustration is very expensive, so I understand why the author chose AI-looking digital pictures. Children’s books with brilliant illustrations, like the ones featured in the Llama Llama series, are my favorite, and I find that they are more engaging for children as well. Overall, I recommend the book; the writing is fun, and the premise is charming.
"The Oogly Boogly Googly Goose" by Lucas Light is a children's picture book that will have your kids laughing. It's funny with great descriptions and cartoonlike colorful pictures, and a good plot. The mother goose has a full nest of "Slinky Dinky Prinky" eggs. One day the "teeny weeny meany sneak(y)" fox comes spying and finds the eggs. The "Oogly Boogly Googly Goose" puts up such a fuss that she scares off the fox to protect her eggs. It's heartwarming and family friendly. In each picture of the nest the eggs look different and there are a different number of eggs in the nest. Challenge kids who notice this to count the eggs and tell what is different about them and try to explain why they change. (Ie. Magic, or growing up changing as they develop, or different nests of eggs over time, for instance. )
Highly recommend for families with young children and children's libraries!
Thank you to Netgalley, Books Go Social, and Lucas Light for this e-book so I could write a review.
NetGalley ARC APP review
I read this to my nephew (2) on the app. He was so engaged with the book, loved the pictures and was touching the animals in aww at them. This book was so colorful and fun to read. A bit of a play on words at times and can tie you up but he seemed to laugh at his auntie fumbling alittle with the rhythm of the words.
Great Easter read.
A great alittle rhyming children’s book. Quite funny and the illustrations were colour and really grabbed my daughter’s attention. A great book about mother love and protecting her children.
Although the illustrations were good I will say at times slightly creepy at times.
I received a complimentary copy of this book via Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are my own.
Adorable bright illustrations and a fun story full of fun words. I enjoyed it.
What a book! Some of the geese were a little scary to be honest but funny all the same. I loved the rhymes and the colors in this book. I definitely think my son would think it’s funny!
The Oogly Boogly Googly Goose does a good job of endearing the characters to the reader.
Unfortunately, kids today have opinions about everything and the goose in this book is scary.
The eggs with eyeballs are more that a bit odd, too.
I would buy this book for my library but hope that it will be updated.
My son enjoyed this book. It is beautifully illustrated and colourful so it kept his interest. The book is short so good for younger children.
The thing that struck me about this is book is the fun bright illustrations and how sweet the animal faces are.
A rhyming story about the Goose protecting her interesting bright fabulous eggs from a fox.
Thanks to NetGalley and the Publisher for the ARC.
Beautiful visuals and good rhyming scheme are the highlights of this book. The story and beautiful illustrations by Lucas Light makes you want to buy a hard copy of this book, and save it for your kids, whenever they are born.

A book great for young children in kindergarten and pre-primary. Good use of cheery colours to make children excited and grab their attention.

A big thank you to NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for the eARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is a children's book. It is pretty short but very colorful! It is a rhyming sory. Reading it out loud was like speaking in tongue twisters. This made us laugh. Cute 3.5 star
The Oogly Boogly Googly Goose is a vibrant children book that’s due to its rhymes and vibrant colours is very engaging to read with younger children. My little one absolutely enjoyed this right before Easter and had fun pointing out all the colourful eggs the goose tried to protect.
From a parents perspective this is a fun read the only downside for me personally are that it looks like AI illustrations which I am not a fan of. I do understand these are cheaper but I prefer traditional illustrations. However my child enjoyed it. So 4.5 stars from us.
Thanks to #netgalley and the publisher for an e-arc in exchange for my honest review.
Thank you to BooksGoSocial and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this picture book for my students. This is definitely a picture book I would recommend for speech students because it has some fantastic pictures and illustrations and a plot with the perfect length. Because of these points, I have to give this a 5 out of 5 stars
