Whether you are a leader, Learning & Development specialist, HR professional, or an entry-level worker, I highly recommend reading Breaking Free from Toxic Leadership by Markus Zehentner and Claudia Schwinghammer. Sadly, workplace toxicity is present in far too many teams in far too many companies, and no-one is immune. From the entry-level worker to a new leader, tools are needed to survive certain workplace environments. The authors do a superb job in covering the most pertinent topics, such as:
• power dynamics: manipulation or influence?
• Workplace culture and manipulation tactics
• Trusting your instincts and intuition.
• How to set boundaries and evaluate possible outcomes.
