This little spell book is perfect for anyone wanting to try their hand at magic. It seems to be simple enough to follow and very informative. I loved the little notes provided at the bottom of the page. I can't wait to try some of these.
A transformative self-help book intertwining wisdom with mystical spells! The writing is insightful and empowering, guiding readers on a journey of personal growth and magical empowerment. A must-read for anyone seeking to harness their inner strength and manifest positive changes.
I love all of Lindsay Squire's books and "The Witch's Book of Spells" did not disappoint. This book is ideal for Witches who have been practicing for a little while, because it covers so much information. This book is a nice combination of European and North American magicks, everything from Wiccan holidays to Hoodoo, and Granny Magick. I absolutely loved this book, I wish this volume was around about twenty five years ago, because it would have saved me from researching, gathering, and handwriting one of my earlier Grimoires. This book is a must have for your witch library!
This is a cute spellbook for those who like to cook or bake, want to celebrate the wheel of the year and have an array of different types of spells at their fingertips. It is laid out well and doesn’t seem to over complicate.
I love this book. This is a great introduction to Magick, even for a beginner. It is very informative and includes everything you need to know in a clear and concise way. There is a great contents page so you can find exactly what you are after. Very easy to dip in and out of. There is a great introduction which explains Magic and Spells. Then there is an extensive list of spells - lots to aid personal development and growth.
The writing is empowering and thought provoking. The cover is very cute too. Thanks to NetGalley for this addition to my library!
What a great book. I love all the different chapters and especially enjoyed the beginning of the book that incorporated seasonal recipes. Each chapter is divided into different sections from healing, to buying a house and even a happy pet spell. The drawings are perfectly matched to the spells. At the end of the book, there is a glossary of items that includes oils, crystals, herbs and more. Also the different symbols and the meanings they are attached with. I am going to begin with a simple spell for psychic abilities and move on to a prosperity spell. I can’t wait to make one of the yummy recipes.
I great collection of simple spells. That does not mean that hey aren’t powerful, just they they are really accessible to more people, something which it a great thing, as witchcraft really can be practiced by everyone!

Love this. The layout and style is beautiful. Graphics and diagrams are amazing, very colorful. The spells are written well, the history and backgrounds go into lots of detail. The detail work and effort that went into making this truly shows, it was amazing to read through.
Thank you Netgalley for the advanced copy of The Witch’s Book of Spells! This was a beautiful book with delightful illustrations and many different and versatile spells. I will be purchasing a copy!
Lindsay Squire is one of my favourite witchcraft authors out there. Her content is accessible, informative, and able to be tailored easily to each person’s individual practice. I am always looking for inspiration for more spells, and The Witch’s Book of Spells is a great resource for a wide range of workings.
I’ve loved every book Lindsay Squire has written, and The Witch’s Book of Spells is no exception. As someone who owns all of her books, I appreciate how she consistently manages to make witchcraft accessible, simple, and easy to understand. This latest release is packed with over 100 spells and rituals, covering everything from protection and abundance to self-love and well-being. What I love most about Lindsay’s writing is how she breaks things down in such a clear, non-intimidating way, making it perfect for both beginners and experienced practitioners. Whether you're looking for practical advice or just some new inspiration for your craft, this book is a must-have for any witch’s collection!
I read a book a few years back by Lindsay Squire and loved it so much I had to buy a hard copy after it came out, so I was prepared for this one. If this was anything like her book on tarot, I was fully expecting to buy a hard copy of this one too, because I like Squire’s straightforward writing style and her way of breaking down concepts so that I can understand everything easily the firs time I read about it. (I wound up owning the hard copy of this one too).
To start with, there are these adorable little illustrations on nearly every page. They’re related to what is being discussed, and it reinforced what was on the page. In some cases, it’s a depiction of a diagram or setup that should be copied, while in others, it’s a rune, or a cute image of an ingredient that is central to the spell or recipe.
The book opens with an introductory discussion covering spell casting, which covers information that isn’t just useful to beginners, but can benefit more experienced practitioners as well. From there, it dives right into spells and rituals, touching on so many areas. There are spells and rituals devoted to specific seasons and sabbats, as well as the highly varied specializations, including: moon magick, finances and prosperity, employment and ambition, peace and happiness, good fortune, protective magic, health and well-being, self-care and self-love, psychic abilities, ancestor connections, home and kitchen witchery, family and friends, and love and romance.
In the other Squire book I read, she emphasized the importance of tweaking things to make them your own and working with what you have. She carries that same tone into this book, and I love that. While all of her spells include “ingredients” that are relatively simple to get, she also includes a note that it is okay to work with what you’ve got and make substitutions if there is an ingredient that you don’t have. At the end of the book, there’s a list of correspondences, to make it easier to find an ingredient that can work as a substitute.
Unlike other spell books that I’ve seen, where the majority of them look really cool but aren’t the type that I’m going to be using any time soon, this one is absolutely full of spells and rituals that I will be using. There is also a note before each spell letting readers know when the best time to do the spell is, whether it is a sabbath, a weekday, or a moon phase. Overall, this is a fantastic book and I’m so glad that I have a hard copy on my shelf. Just a heads up—if you like to flag pages, beware, because you might run out of flags before pages
The Witch's Book of Spells is a collection of over 100 spells and rituals perfect for beginner and seasoned witches. Within this treasure trove of a book, you'll find a spell or a ritual for any occasion you can think of, all of them organized by theme.
The book is broken into two parts, the first being an introduction to spellcasting, giving the reader background information on what spells are, how long they take, and what to do before you cast your spell.
The second part is where all the spells and rituals are, each chapter dedicated to a different theme such as sabbats, moon magick, protection, good luck, etc.
Sometimes in witchcraft books the introduction can feel a bit repetitive, every book going through the same basics of what witchcraft is but I found this book's introduction to be quite refreshing as it dove into aspects of spells and magick that I hadn't seen before.
I especially loved the section that went into detail about why a spell might not work and how to rework and write your spells! There is even a section at the end of the book that goes into correspondences of popular herbs, spices, crystals, etc. so that you can craft and create your spells.
I appreciated how Lindsay included spells that were not only powerful but didn't require a ton of difficult ingredients, making it a great resource to have for witches of all walks and skill sets. Each spell or ritual included a list with the ingredients, tools, method, and the best time to cast/practice.
Overall, this book is fantastic for both beginner and advanced witches. It has a ton of different spells and rituals with various themes as well as easy how-to guides and information.
I really enjoyed this book of spells. I had to share with my mom who does a lot of manifesting and sets intentions by the moon phases. I will be buying her and myself a physical copy of this to be able to reference and do some of these spells ourselves.
I absolutely love this book, the information presented here is super useful and easy to read and understand. Also the illustrations are so beautiful and fitting to each part of the book 😍
I think it's great for beginners as it covers many key aspects to start practicing, but at the same time it can be enjoyed for more experienced practitioners to find new perspectives or new ideas for spells and rituals.
Can't wait to read more of Lindsay's books ❤️
The grounding exercises were excellent and will help any witch prepare for their first spellcasting. The importance of preparation is essential for anyone starting their journey. I would recommend this title.
An easy to read, understand & implement guide to spells by the With of the Forest. I enjoyed the clearly written lists of correspondences, as well as the beautiful illustrations by Viki Lester. So happy to have this in my collection and would recommend to all modern seekers of magick!
