I read this in one go and it's a book I will be using often and reflecting back on the tasks of self care. Definitely recommend to anyone who needs to focus on their self care and are spiritual
"As nature cycles through birth, growth, decay, and rebirth, we too experience these phases in our lives. By honoring these cosmic rythms, we tap into a deeper understanding of ourselves and our connection to the World around us. it's a reminder that we are not separate from nature, we're an integral part of it."
Cozy self-care rituals, beautiful illustrations, information about the origin of rituals and what the ritual signifies, this book has everything I need to start celebrating and honoring cosmic traditions. This book breaks down the meaning of each celebration whether it be Zodiac rituals, lunar rituals or planetary rituals and how we can celebrate them. One of my favorite elements of this book are the beautiful illustrations, for that alone I will be adding a physical copy of this book on my shelf. This book has about 60 rituals to honor these timeless celebrations on a very personal level. I love how this book assumes I am a novice, which is what I need! It is broken down simply with a lovely origin story of each zodiac, lunar, astrological, planetary phase etc. and the meaning behind each.
This is the sort of book that you want a physical copy of just for the beautiful illustrations. I love how the author incorporates journaling elements in this as well. There are plenty of simple rituals that can get you started with manifestation, gratitude and affirmations. All the required ingredients/crystals are pretty easy to find and most of the rituals that required ingredients, I would imagine most people already have access to in their homes. I did take part in one ritual "The Summer Ritual", and I felt a profound sense of gratitude, peace and appreciation for mother nature
I highly recommend checking out Katie Huang's book "Cosmic Self-Care". I know I will be incorporating these rituals in the weeks to come and I am so excited to add this as part of my self-care routine!
With wonderful, vibrantly colored illustrations and mindful self-care rituals, Cosmic Self-Care is terrific. There’s a lot in here; I really liked many of the seasonal rituals and have put some dates on my calendar of specific ones I’d like to add to my life.
I got a lot from this book.
This is one I’ll be getting for my own bookshelf and it’s a recommendation from me for anyone looking to embrace some new self-care practices.
Thank you to Leaping Hare Press and NetGalley for the DRC
"Whether you resonate with the Moon's phases, the zodiac seasons, the Wheel of the Year, planetary transits, or all of the above, this book has got you covered."
This book has a lot! I think the rituals in it are pleasant and well-thought-out. One thing to note is that because all of these rituals are tied to a specific date or season, you are limited by that. You can't just open it up and find a ritual for any time. I think the only ones that definitely cover all days are the zodiac seasons. All the others are very specific times.
My favorite part was the explanations about the Wheel of the Year and different seasons.
It has a thorough table of contents and a usable index, which I love.
Although most of this information is available for free online in some place or the other, if you do want to buy it in book form to have it altogether, this is a great book.
