Beautifully photographed with lovely illustrations and easy to understand tips, tricks and instructions this is the perfect book for anyone wanting to start their kitchen garden.
I loved how it clearly explains how to plan and set out your ideal garden and even activities for you and your family to do together.
What a sweet book that I would love to give and receive during this holiday season. From the beginning to the end of a garden, this book in great detail explains the ins and outs of how to build both a garden and a community - I loved it. I loved reading about the ideal number of plants per person which is the first time I had seen anything like that. I appreciated using the cards analogy as to how to build your garden and where to begin. I have created two gardens and will be creating another one soon and I loved going back to the beginning with this book and thinking about how to plan out my next garden.
Kitchen Garden Living isn’t just about planting veggies—it’s about creating a whole lifestyle centered on fresh, seasonal food and the joy of growing it yourself. Bailey Van Tassel makes kitchen gardening feel approachable and downright stylish, whether you’re working with a sprawling yard or a small patch of dirt.
The book takes you step by step, from planning and planting to harvesting and even preserving your homegrown goodness. It’s packed with helpful tips, creative projects, and gorgeous ideas to make your garden a reflection of your personal style. I especially loved the focus on living seasonally—it’s such a great reminder to slow down and savor what’s in season.
Beyond gardening, this book shows how to turn your garden into a way of life—getting your family involved, connecting with nature, and even using your harvest to host gatherings. It’s part guide, part inspiration, and completely motivating.
If you’ve ever dreamed of growing your own food and creating a peaceful, purposeful space in the process, this book is a must-have. 🌱✨
