Description

He’s back. Hank Logan, the man who broke Lana Sweet’s heart, the man she never forgot, is back in their little town and making her fall in love with him all over again. After her brother Michael’s death ten years ago, Hank disappeared, leaving behind the devastated girl who’d loved him since the first grade. Lana is one tough nut to crack, except when it comes to Hank. With him, she’s just a big pushover. One smile, one kiss, and she’s back where she started. Except now she’s pregnant and wondering if she can count on a man who walked away—who could walk away again—leaving her to deal with the consequences. Just like before.

Hank never meant to come back to his hometown, but when he heard about the wildfire threatening Cedar Springs, he had to return. Who’s he kidding? Sure, there was a fire, but the bigger draw was Lana. In the ten years since Michael’s death, Hank hasn’t been back, but he never could get Lana out of his thoughts, never could move on when she was the only girl he’d ever loved. Blaming himself for Michael’s death, Hank can’t bring himself to tell Lana the truth of what happened that night. Not when telling her would mean he might never get her back.

Hank and Lana are about to say good-bye forever just as the embers of the flames reignite, giving them one more chance to realize they can’t live without one another. But do they have the courage to rekindle their love?

He’s back. Hank Logan, the man who broke Lana Sweet’s heart, the man she never forgot, is back in their little town and making her fall in love with him all over again. After her brother Michael’s...

Burning Flame is the third and final book in the California Wildfire Fighters series and a story of second chances. But like with many second chance stories, this one is filled with moments of doubt, emotional turmoil, plenty of angst and a whole lot of missed opportunities.

While Hank is a gruff, hard-arsed, less than friendly man, his heart is filled with pain and sorrow for a past event he could have prevented. He has shouldered this burden for 10 longs years, and been running from the woman he loves just as long. Lana has never stopped loving Hank; she just wants to know why he left without warning and by all appearances, never looked back. They had something special, or so she thought, and the raging fire consuming the landscape, can’t begin to compete with the firestorm that burns within their embrace. The past needs to be buried, but a new chapter in their lives may be just as hard to conquer as feelings of déjà vu and old habits raise their ugly heads.

I loved these characters and totally understood where Lana was coming from. Better to let love go than hold onto a lie. The storyline line was well developed for such a short story and everything flowed easily. A great series that should be read in order, otherwise you’re missing out!

BURNING FLAME by LESLIE NORTH is a FIREFIGHTER and second chance romance! I really enjoyed the story and found myself yelling at the characters. Once I started the book I couldn't put it down and read until 2:30 a.m. Definitely an author I'll be on the lookout for!
