This was such a good book. It would be a good bedtime story or just a book to look through in a child's home library. It gives prayers from around the world and shows different places where people live. The illustrations are wonderful and I would recommend this book to anyone wanting a bedtime prayer book or a good book to talk to your children about their relationship with God.
This was such a lovely book. The illustrations were beautiful and vividly detailed, and the text was as well. I wish there was more information about the actual cultures of the places around the world, but for simplicity’s sake, this worked just fine. I would definitely buy it for my nephew and read it to him.
This book opens with a verse from Psalms. This is an indicator of the types of prayers you will find in this book. There are soft and sweet illustrations that support the prayers. This would make a great book for reading at bedtime to help establish a young readers faith in Christ. It is also a great model for how to pray for a child or adult who is just starting out on their path to faith.
The prayers are mostly related to Christianity rather than other religions. That said, the illustrations are lovely and it’s a nice book for bedtime.

Back of the Book: “Across the continents, this beautifully illustrated book of prayers reflects on God's amazing world, celebrating different countries, landscapes and traditions. From fishing villages to the African plains, farming in Peru to the snowy landscape of Greenland, blossoms in Japan and leaf kicking in eastern Europe and to the shores of the Pacific ocean, these prayers share God's love and care for his world.”
Impressions: This was a beautifully illustrated book but I did not care for it. There wasn’t prayers around the world but a prayer that weaved through the world’s countries. I was looking for something more specific to each country and perhaps specific prayers that help understand their lives and culture more.

Prayers Around the World by Deborah Lock reads like a book of poor, immature poetry. I personally didn't appreciate the style and the book gave no sense of being set in any specific place around the globe as the title would suggest. Instead, the prayers focused on the countryside and harvests.
The book is a series of prayers that are probably pitched at the Christian community. The basic text is written in a faux, old-fashioned way that requires some unpicking of the language. The best thing about the book are the beautiful illustrations by Helen Cann.
Although well-edited, I think the prose is poor. I rate this a fairly average 3/5 stars. It's not a series of prayers I'd recite more than once.
I thought this book would be more multinational, but it wasn't, so I was a little disappointed. There are many beautiful prayers around the world, and this book covers just certain ones. Not for me.
The beauty of “Prayers around the world” by Deborah Lock and Helen Cann is evident from the time you gaze at the cover! All the people that Gid lives from East to West and North to South are right there on the cover.
The thought and love that was put into making this children’s picture prayer book is astounding. The beautiful, easy read is even more impressive with the gorgeous illustrations throughout.
Any child who is lucky enough to get their small hands on this book will truly see how Gods love shines down in all of us, no matter who we are or where we come from. He loves us all the same.
Prayers Around the World written by Deborah Lock and illustrated by Helen Cann was a nice little book to read to little ones. The illustrations were especially lovely. By the title of the book, I expected there to be actual prayers from places around the world but the book was fine all the same. #PrayersAroundtheWorld #NetGalley
This book of prayers is beautiful. I love the art and the prayers. The prayers come from around the world (hence the title) plus some scripture passages. I love the book and I plan to include it in our kid's bedtime routine.
