This is a great resource for kids that love nature! My daughter loved looking through it and learned a bunch of new facts about animals and plants.
I can not wait to preorder this as a physical copy. I went through the digital copy with my five year old and we are plotting out which activities we can do this fall. I'm completely getting this book for summer of 2022 to do with her (she will be six then). This book has a great mix of sticker activities, matching, mazes, experiments, math, science, and fun facts/ information about so many different animals. I will say it again, I am so excited for this book. We are looking to complete the 100o hours outdoor challenge and this book will really help with it. Great job on this book!
These books are absolutely incredible and I cannot wait to purchase them all and dive into them with my kids. These are activities that are not only fun for kids, but for the whole family! With some pages being great for independent time (aka mom needs to get the dishes cleaned up) my favorite activities are the ones that allow us to get out and explore nature. Wonderful job! Huge fan.
What a beautiful workbook! The pages are jumping with colorful illustrations and fun learning activities! My son absolutely loved this!!
Brilliant read and very interactive. I redd this with my four year old and he said he would like more books like this to read. The quick information snippets of information are great ways for young minds to read and digest. The pictures and are well thought out and brightly coloured therefore keeps a younger audience engaged.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. There are so many delightful and thought-provoking activities! I am looking forward to purchasing the physical copy of this book when it is published. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced reader’s copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
As a homeschool mom, this book is everything. We do a very nature based curriculum for preschool and this fit right in. If your kid loves nature, or you want to get them into it more, while also learning I highly recommend this!
Nature Smarts Workbook for Ages 4-6 is fantastic! This nature themed workbook is filled with a digestible amount of facts for preschoolers & kindergarteners to learn about North American animals, habitats, adaptations, animal tracks, weather, water and plant life. There are many maze, matching and sticker activities that children could do on their own and several experiments to try outdoors with parental guidance. This would be ideal for homeschool or for children who really enjoy nature or need to get more involved with nature.
I would definitely recommend this one, and will be buying a copy when it is published for my kids. Thank you to Net Galley for the digital ARC in exchange for an honest review.
A wonderful, fun, interactive science workbook for pre-K and early elementary! Younger readers will need support from a reading partner to understand the text and activity directions, but the illustrations are bright and engaging and will help them connect with each lesson.
There' are lots of interactive activities, from mazes and games to drawing spaces to journal prompts to hands-on projects like bird feeders and track maps. The variety is enough to engage all kinds of learners and there are even some basic math exercises to encourage cross-subject learning.
This would be a wonderful gift to spark curiosity about nature and would also make a great enrichment activity to do as a family. Many of the lessons could also be shared in the classroom as a part of a science unit.
Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!
This is a must have book! Very engaging for kids. A must to all families. It really helps kids develop curiosity and interest in learning more about nature.
This little workbook is jam-packed with learning adventures! Fun, easy-to-follow labs can be done with little prep. Arts and crafts blend in nicely with math and rhyming activities to round out the activity series. Younger learners may need more guidance than those in the older age range (as there is lots of reading). This workbook provides good support for what kids learn in school in the early years or as a bridge during the long summer vacation months.
The Nature Smarts Workbook is illustrated with adorably interesting images of flora and fauna and is full of fun, educational activities at the appropriate level for small children. This would be a great book to take while traveling to keep kids engaged but off of devices. Kids interested in scouting, camping, or science would love this book, but the cute animals will appeal to all kids in the 4-6 age range.
This is a lovely nature workbook for ages 4-6. It would make an excellent supplement to any preschool-kindergarten curriculum. Bear in mind, this is coming from the Mass Audubon Society and is very specific to the North East USA. I really only recommend this for folks who live in that geographic region as there are experiments and suggestions for outside activities specific to that region. (There was one page about a cactus in a dessert, but otherwise all the animal/plant/climate stuff is specific to the NE US.)
Within you'll find mazes, dot-to-dots, stickers, scavenger hunts, nature crafts, experiments, and kid-friendly nature science information. I like the focus on getting outside and exploring. All of the activities seem like they would be high interest to the target age group.
I teach in a Forest School and run two family hiking groups. I can assure you, these will be suggested. I cannot believe how amazing these workbooks were. They were PERFECT not only for little minds building skills but also for nature lovers embracing new facts. I cannot wait for these to be printed so I can purchase them. These will be big hits with nature-loving families
I really love this workbook. Its targeted perfectly for the ages 4-6. They really took the time to make the illustrations engaging and put them on every page to really attract the reader. It has such a great mixture of nature facts from plants, insects, animals, birds, weather, and more. I even learned many neat facts reading through it myself. It's super interactive with everything from mazes, stickers, scavenger hunts, games, experiments, and more. You can do everything from growing plants, making a simple bird feeder, creating your own beaver dam, and tons of other fun activities mixed throughout it. It will definitely keep the reader engaged and having fun, without even making them realize they are learning. This would be great for a nature lover, the classroom, nature centers, homeschooling, etc. Excellent mixture of everything.
