Description

Mischa Kenning-Elliott is seventeen, super bright and, until recently, about as dramatic as her 8 am Econ lectures. She’s a happy mid-bottom dweller on the Centerville High social food chain and is focused on things like college applications and avoiding the dreaded f word—another flare of her lupus.

Ever since he was adopted in the seventh grade, Casey Everfeld’s life has been going according to plan, too. He’s Centerville’s star pitcher, popular, and predictable in his own way right up until he asks Mischa to prom.

Now, Mischa’s seeing the same number everywhere and knowing things she shouldn’t. Now, she and Casey are a thing. A serious thing. A thing she doesn’t want to give up.

There’s just one problem: someone’s trying to kill her.

This captivating and intense series opener raises lots of questions and has somewhat of a paranormal or supernatural feel to it. Our leads, Mischa and Casey, have strong chemistry between them, and I'm glad author Jaime Winn chose to write from each of their point of views. 'Pull' has me in its grip and I can't wait to find out more in the next installment of this series.

I read this book really quickly I couldn't put it down. It was well written with a fascinating storyline and well developed and relatabel characters. I loved the relationship between Mischa and Casey which was intense and full of palpable chemisty and the twists and unpredictablility in this book made it an on the edge of my seat read. I really liked it.

The title Pull describes the way that the main characters feel - they feel pulled toward each other.

Mischa and Casey go to school together. During their junior year in high school, Casey asks Mischa out. They were drawn to each other before this, but once they start spending time together, they feel the PULL the spend more and more time together and physically feel it when they are separated. (Kind of like the mate bonds they talk about in werewolf books).

I mostly believed their relationship. I certainly felt the chemistry coming off of the pages. I dont usually like the "insta love" books, but I enjoyed this one.

I also like that the story was told from both of thier points of view. Thats my favorite kind of storytelling.

However, there were a few things I didn't like. The parents of both kids obviously knew something mysterious about the relationship. But neither kid really pursues this with their parents. Really? Do you know any teens from today - they would nag until they get an answer.

This is a young adult book, and it pretty much reads like one. Reactions dont seem realistic. Their relationship is awfully pure for teens. That being said, I still enjoyed it.

I want to thank the author, the publisher and #netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this, I need to give this 4 stars since I will probably be reading the next book in the series - I want to see what the mystery is.
