Description
Using a new translation by James Trapp and including editorial notes, this bilingual edition of The Art of War lays the original Chinese text opposite the modern English translation. The book contains the full original 13 chapters on such topics as laying plans, attacking by stratagem, weaponry, terrain and the use of spies. Sun Tzu addresses different campaign situations, marching, energy and how to exploit your enemy’s weaknesses. Of immense influence to great leaders across millennia, The Art of War is a classic text richly deserving this exquisite edition.

Featured Reviews
Amber Books are quickly becoming a "must buy" publisher for me. I absolutely love their non-fiction books and James Trapp's new translation of Sun Tzu's 'The Art of War' is no exception.
The book is well-formatted with useful and informative footnotes that give the text greater context.
Whilst I cannot read Chinese, I really appreciated the inclusion of quotes and text written in Chinese as many English translated editions of The Art of War don't adequately acknowledge the original language in my opinion.
I have now ordered this book and look forward to seeing and feeling the binding that has been done using a traditional Chinese practice.
Thank you to NetGalley, Amber Books, and James Trapp for giving me a free digital copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review.
