THE NUTCRACKER PRINCE IS NO DOLL...
Christmas at her childhood home usually ends with Klara getting tipsy with her eccentric godfather. The night she was caught in the middle of a battle between a prince and a madman? That had to have been a dream. Being flung into a wondrous realm of fairies, magick, danger, and desire? Feels more real than her world ever did.
Prince Jaemis can claim no future, cursed by Mogran the Mouse King, cut off from his kingdom. Dark magick brought a dream come true in the middle of his waking nightmare. Klara is everything he wants and cannot have, but she must return to her realm before it is too late, before the veil between their worlds is no more. He doesn't want something to live for, when all he's marked for is death.
Klara's destiny is tied to the prince's somehow, and also to a sinister plot neither of them will fathom.
It's a battle to survive, to separate friend from foe, and to uncover secrets of the past that could change the future.

Beautifully written story. I enjoyed the characters and the story. I look forward for more from the author!
I've been obsessed with all things Nutcracker since a child. So when I saw this book I quickly requested to review it. As luck would have it, here I am lol. I read a lot of fantasy/romance and they all pull from very similar myths. Fae, vampires, werewolves, witches. This book, while still being full of magic, did it in a way that made it unique. I really enjoyed that. I loved the story. There was action, a curse, and great sex. The characters were well developed. I was rooting for Jaemis and Klara once they locked eyes.
3.5 star read for me.
I loved the cover of this book, and I requested an E-ARC before even reading what the story was about. Thank you to NetGallery and the author for the E-ARC.
I enjoyed the nutcracker retelling with a nice bit of smut on the side. The story was enchanting and the romance was very sweet, I like the whole fated mates troupe but felt that this was a little rushed.
The book could have been shorter but I enjoyed the vivid world building, cast of characters and elements of magic along the way.
A good escapism read for December.
What a gorgeous novel full of loveable characters and a storyline that I couldn't put down. This one is a must read! I loveeeeeddd this retelling, seriously hooked from the first page.
This was an amazing read. The cover and title caught my attention first. But I was a little unsure coming into this because retellings can be a hit or miss thing for me. Thankfully I loved this retelling and the way everything seemed to flow so well and the chemistry was perfect. The characters all felt like they could be a real person and the story pulled me in so much that I actually cried along with them.
A Spicy Nutcracker retelling!! OMG you need this on your Holiday list! I can't stop thinking about this! Oh and the spice! Yes, yes, yes!
I just reviewed A Curse of Frost and Fate by Verika Sloane. #ACurseofFrostandFate #NetGalley

This is an adult retelling of the Nutcracker.
The mouse king has imprisoned the true king and queen and their son Jaemis is planning a rescue. Then he overhears a plot to capture a girl named Klara from another realm and knows he has to stop it...
Meanwhile, Klara and her family are celebrating Christmas. Her godfather gets her a nutcracker doll. After plenty of drinks, Klara has the oddest dream...
This is a charming story. If you like the Nutcracker, you will like this as well.
“A cursed prince was nothing more than a titled man who knew how death would claim him”
“You’re still the most handsome doll in the house. Goodnight, my Nutcracker prince”
“You’re lost in thought, I see … would you like to be found?”
Absolutely the best Christmas book I’ve read this year !!! Oh my goodness !!! I’m in awe !!! I don’t have words to describe what this book meant to me !!!
I devoured it in less than a day !! I couldn’t stop reading it!!
As a huge fan of the Nutcracker’s story I couldn’t help but deeply appreciate the way the author reassembled this story to make it more adult, more magikal and spicier !!! I loved every second of it!!
Klara and Jaemis’s story was spellbinding and enchanting and I loved getting through the whole journey against the Mouse King and Queen with them!!
The connection between the worlds and the magic system were made even better by the secrets and mystery surrounding the characters’ abilities and the figure of this uncle that seems to know it all and be always there !!!
I would highly recommend to everyone to read this story with the original soundtrack of the ballet in your ear … believe it made the experience a hundred times better !!!
A Christmas book, written for the Christmas season, that highlights a thousand fold the importance and the significance of family and love during a time of the year where they have most meaning. I’m so glad I had the chance to read this story !!! I can’t wait for it to be out !!
“There is no me without you”
“Life is merely a dance. A series of steps to an ever changing song. Hear this. When you no longer hear the music, you must stop and find your rhythm again … and love? … Oh yes, love has a rhythm too”
Note: this book has mature content so it's recommended for ages 18 and up.
I love The Nutcracker. I have been a dancer for most of my life so it's safe to say that I was around the story of the nutcracker a lot as a kid and I love it even more now that I am in college. I loved all of the magic and wonder in this book and I wanted to keep reading to meet all of the characters and read about what happened
I really liked how the book wove in references to ballet and the book - I loved what the author did with the Sugar Plum Fairy how she was a dancer, and all the other details that were in the book. Klara and the prince were such great characters and I loved watching them fall in love. Overall I would recommend this book to adults who loved the Nutcracker when they were younger and those who love Fantasy Romance.
This was so good. I absolutely love retellings and this didn’t disappoint. The characters were great, the world was magical and I will definitely re-read this. I hope it comes out on audiobook as well because I think it would be amazing there. The only issues I did have was all the typos. I’m not taking stars off for it because they’re easily fixed, but there were quite a few and a good edit would make this even better.

A Nutcracker retelling definitely caught my attention! I haven't read anything like this before and I really enjoyed this. There were some spelling and grammar errors that took me out of the story a bit, but that's to be expected with an ARC. Overall, I liked this and will continue!
If you like fairy tales, Swan Lake, true love, Christmas good feel movies and are an adult (there are some really sexy bits), then you will love this book. I’m not really into ballet, but I do like losing myself in a good fantasy story. Verika says she always wanted to write the story of Swan Lake as a book. Now she has, and wow - I never imagined Swan Lake like this. The story has been altered by her imaginative writing into a book that drags you in and doesn’t let go. Thank you to Verika Sloane and NetGalley for the ARC. The views expressed are all mine, freely given.
Klara goes home for another family holiday, only to be swept away to a magical world. She joins forces with the prince to defeat the Mouse King from taking over both worlds. This is a very steamy, modern retelling of The Nutcracker.
From a leisure read perspective, this book is fantastic! The reimagined telling of the Nutcracker is just what I need for this time of year. Rather than sitting by a roaring fire, the spicy content in this book will be enough to ward off a chill. One of my favourite Christmas stories just got even better!
However, speaking as a middle school librarian, this book is very much not appropriate. So, while I will be adding a copy to my personal library, it will not be making its way onto the shelves of my school library.
What a fab book for December and the Christmas season. A retelling of the classic Nutcracker story with a magic and saucy twist, not for everyone admittedly but a great read. It's a long novel so settle down for a fun read.
I really enjoyed this book! I flew through it on one afternoon and I am so sad that it's over. The author did a great job with the plot and keeping the story moving with no stagnant parts. The characters were very relatable and fun to learn. Great read!
Having read another Nutcracker retelling immediately before, I was hesitant about jumping straight into A Curse of Frost and Fate but what better time than the weekend before Christmas?!
This tale was very different though and in some ways, made for enjoyable easy reading full of cosy imagery and spicy scenes to get the heart rate going.
Klara lives in New York, she's just your typical 27 year old but she has an eccentric uncle, who for Christmas gives her a nutcracker ornament from his travels. After being let down for her Christmas Eve date, Klara ends up in a different realm with the gorgeous Prince Jaemis, looking to rescue the kingdom from the evil Mouse King.
I loved this book and couldn't have asked for a better, cosy read to transport me on the run up to the holiday season.
Highly recommended for some festive fantasy escapism!
If you love the fairy tales with love, magic and adventures, then you cannot miss this retelling of the Nutcracker , which is one of my favorite Christmas stories.
From the beginning you will be surrounded by the magical Christmas atmosphere that will follw you in what will become a true dream with open eyes. In fact, Verika has convey to manage all her love for the story of the Nutcracker and create a magical retelling with truly well-described and real settings and characters. Infact, you won’t struggle to live the Christmas traditions of Klara and her family for a moment and one second later finding yourself fighting against a curse in another realm!
I adored Klara and Jaemis: the former is an independent woman, who does not hesitate to give everything she has for the people she cares about and to fight for what she thinks is right. And it is also a pure and genuine person that the world in which we live doesn’t deserve.
Jaemis instead.. well, can I have him for Christmas?! I loved his character: he is loyal, courageous and cursed. Aware that his history will not end with an happy ending,he is willing to give up all of himself and to give up even those last moments of happiness that are granted to him in order to protect his kingdom and the people around him.
i’ve also loved the way in which the relationship between the two was built: immediately there was a great chemistry between them that evolved into a relationship of mutual trust, which, managed to bring a little "light in the lives of both.. especially in Jaemis'.
✨In conclusion, I can say that it is a reading that reaffirms the importance of love, family and friendship during this period. I also assure you that it will make you smile, move, scream and that in the end you will want to have a Crush in the house!
Who doesn't love a nutcracker retelling at this time of year and this one was definitely enjoyable. A love story that had me rooting right from the moment they met, spice galore and magic. I loved it
This is the first Nutcracker retelling that I have read and I enjoyed it so much. It has a whimsical undertone and the adult scenes made the story different from other retellings that i have read.
I've always loved The Nutcracker, so upon seeing a retelling, I was intrigued.
I received an eARC from NetGalley, so there were some typos, but hopefully those get fixed in final edits.
I honestly didn't expect to like the story as much as I did. I thought it was a fun retelling with magic and wonder and a little bit of spice. I liked the flow the story, though I could see how some might feel it was a little slow or unnecessary. Overall I found it very entertaining and could see myself rereading it during the holidays in the future.
A curse of frost and fate is about Klara who falls asleep and wakes suddenly up in a different world. A magical world. She meets the prince Jaemis, who she spends a lot of time with. But he’s hiding something, and Klara wants to figure out why.
Although a slow start, I really ended up enjoy reading this. Jaemis was my favorite, who craved to be near another person again, but because of his secret he doesn’t allow himself the joy of company from another being. I can understand he’s afraid, and I can understand the frustration from Klara. If Jaemis was here I would give him a big hug. He deserves that.
The plot was promising and when I started reading this, I had never read a Nutcracker retelling before. It was amazing and I’m so happy I got the chance to read it! I would recommend this to all fantasy readers out there, and if you like smut, read this! Other than that,
Happy reading!♥️
I got this book for free from netgalley.com in exchange for an honest review.
I really liked this book!
It was interesting for me because I was never a huge fan of the Nutcracker, but loved how Verika Sloane brought this story to life! She introduced the plot of the story very early on. It was almost like you knew what was going to happen, you just did not know how! I had theories and there were plenty of twists and turns. There were some steamy scenes, but the book did not rely on them. There was a solid plot line! Enjoyed this book more than I thought I would!!
A perfect read for the week before Christmas!
It initially reminded me of the zodiac academy just a little but quickly became something of its own! It starts with very little context of the setting so the beginning was a little bumpy. But I think this kind of helps get a feel for how one should initially feel for the first few pages.
I was initially tempted by this book because of the premise and a curiosity on how the nutcracker could be retold. I was not disappointed!
Just the right level of spicy in this story! Very steamy! I could not put this book down.
A very spicy Christmas read awaits anyone who opens this book!
This was an ARC read.
"A Curse of Frost and Fate" enchanting and compelling
By CANDICE BLACK
Staff Reporter
After growing up going to my cousins' "Nutcracker" performances, I've always had a soft spot for the ballet.
In "A Curse of Frost and Fate" by Verika Sloane, that fascination perfectly blended with my love for fantasy romance.
The cover immediately grabbed my attention with the pretty colors and the Elsa vibe. Then when I read the description and learned it was based around "The Nutcracker" story, I knew it would be a perfect read for this time of year.
Klara, yes, with a K, lives in Manhattan and visits her parents' Victorian (swoon) estate during the holidays.
Her godfather, Vlosier, shows up late and presents her with a nutcracker doll after everyone falls asleep. Sounds familiar, right? But what Klara experiences throughout the rest of the story is different from what we've all seen.
When she wakes up and hears a struggle in her parents' house, she goes downstairs to find two men fighting, one of which she stabs with her high heeled shoe.
The next morning she thinks it's a dream, but she later gets transported into Galindra, a realm she had no idea existed.
Jaemis, one of the men fighting, is tasked with finding a way to take Klara home before the Mouse King, Mogran, can harm her for unknown reasons.
As I'm sure you can gather, Klara and Jaemis pretty much instantly fall in love. And yes, I know, cringey. But this I was okay with.
Sloane writes the characters and their romance in a way that doesn't take away from the overall plot. Yes, their love story is a main piece of the puzzle, but it didn't take away from the magical realm, creatures and well-developed side characters.
Throughout the book, you learn about a curse, magical abilities and family secrets. Those are all typical elements of a fantasy novel but this one just hits differently.
All of the magic, settings, world-building and scenery make this book one that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. It's very easy to lose yourself in the story, which is something I think we all need from time to time.
To my surprise, this book seems to be a standalone novel and it had a pretty solid ending with everything wrapped up. This is unusual with fantasy books that are usually spread out over the span of several 600-page books. Every once in a while, it's nice to have a story started and finished in one book.
If you're looking for a quick read that's going to sweep you up in a fantasy world, literally, and put you in the mood for Christmas, don't skip on this one. Hey, it might even be a good one to pick up once all the craziness is over and you just need some time to yourself.

Oo so this was an instering book to read but Im very glad I did read it. Found it via netgalley. Blurb caught my eye so I read and man I need more. It kept me pulled into it. Couldn't put it down at all. Abostly loved it and gonna reread it next year. 5 star book and I highly recommend it. Already told a few people that they need to read this book as soon as they can which I'm hoping they do
A Curse of Frost and Fate is a book with an intriguing title and a stunning cover. It caught my eye right away. I then discovered it was a retelling of The Nutcracker. And I fell in love with the story.
I found myself swept away by the beautiful scenes and the unique take on the original tale. With its magical elements and characters, I found myself completely enthralled and in love with the story.
The story follows some of the classic Nutcracker storylines, with recognizable characters for fans of the tale. It also introduces new, interesting characters, each bringing their own unique charm. The setting is described in beautiful detail, transporting us to a magical land. There is also plenty of magic, romance, and love.
The story kept me up and reading late into the night, the passionate romance made me swoon and the hot scenes made me blush. It is a beautiful romantic story that is filled with love, magic, and hope and leaves us with a feeling of joy and contentment at the end. The characters' journeys through the story, with their ups and downs, only add to their happily-ever-after ending.
I adored this adult retelling of the Nutcracker. I highly recommend it to fans of the original story and those who enjoy fantasy romance novels.
I received an advance copy of this book through NetGalley, I am writing this review voluntarily.
A Curse of Frost and Fate was an enjoyable take on the Nutcracker. I found the characters well-written and the setting fantastic. It is a perfect story for the holiday season.
I was excited to get my hands on a Nutcracker retelling and while this story had some great bones and concept, I felt it was a little lengthy. With that said, I adored how things are played out between the romance and the way things played out. I am looking forward to reading more from this author!
I first picked up this book because the title and gorgeous cover drew me in. It is a Nutcracker retelling, but as I have not read/seen the Nutcracker, I cannot say how similar or different it is to the original storyline. However, this book was amazing. I stayed up late trying to finish it, it had me so hooked. The worldbuilding in this book is just enchanting and the love story between Klara and Jaemis just draws you in. You really get a sense of all the emotions and events the characters go through, from their amazing adventures and battles, to heartache and despair to falling in love. This book has it all.
I loved every word of this book, it has everything you need for a cosy Christmas read with a little bit of added spice.
I love a classic retelling and this one is up there in my top 10
Hopefully we’ll get to see more of Galindria in the future.
As a kid, I was made to watch The Nutcracker so many times, I ended up disliking it. This book has made me a fan once again. Thank you for that.
I followed this story easily enough, it kept me engaged and interested but not overly excited. The spice was a minimum and the love happened to fast for my personal taste. Overall I enjoyed it.
Who doesn’t love the Nutcracker?
A Curse of Frost and Fate is a wonderful fantasy retelling of the nutcracker. Klara isn’t sure if she dreaming or the magical world she’s transported to is all a dream.
I enjoyed the world building, this retelling was different than some of the others I’ve read this Christmas.
There are some spicy scenes, but they are easy to flip past if that’s not your thing.
I enjoyed the description of the different magical entities that live in the realm that Klara goes to. I loved the chemistry between her and the Prince.
If you like a HEA - check this one out!
I enjoyed this spin on such a classic tale and one of my personal favorites at that. Jaemis and Klara are a beautiful take on a well-known pairing. The lore was beautifully interwoven into modern times and the world building and array of characters was stunning in detail.
My only wish is that it was split into a duet possibly as it did feel fairly lengthy as time went on. I didn't mind the lighter moments and introduction to backstory for side characters, it just would've helped to split it up some I think.
Thank you to Netgalley and Verika for the chance to Arc this.
A smutty faerie version of the nutcracker. This book was fun and caught the spirit of the nutcracker story without feeling like a Christmas story. Based on the nutcracker story, it is still its own world with multilayered characters and world building. The introduction of faeries and magical creatures was a fun addition to the story, and smut readers look no further as there are several scenes throughout the book to keep you satisfied.
A good easy fantasy read! I felt there was enough world building to really help the story and I read it in one sitting. Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for access to this book
A wonderful take on the nutcracker, I absolutely loved this story and couldn't put it down. It's definitely got festive feels at Christmas time, brilliant.
I enjoyed this retelling of The Nutcracker, with its expansion on the world of the ballet and its characters. Sloane managed to elaborate on a familiar story and make it feel new and interesting again.
I was very excited to discover this book and was my first Nutcracker retelling. I loved the Nutcracker influence and the additional elements to keep it fresh. I loved the spice and the romance aspect to keep the reader engaged. I enjoyed this story.
A Curse of Frost and Fate is a HEA retelling of The Nutcracker.
Klara is an ordinary girl, who is thrown into a magical world and spends her entire time trying to understand and forge connections with everyone around her. Jaemis is the cursed prince, who feels a burden to save the world around him. They both try to fight this 'forbidden' connection between them, as they try to get Klara back home.
I read this with absolutely no knowledge on the original story of The Nutcracker, so I have no way of comparing it to the original. However, just from reading it and catching onto The Nutcracker vibe that is associated in pop culture, I can say that this book succeeded in retelling a mesmerizing tale of love, good vs evil, and magic.
There was so much to learn about the different types of creatures and the magic that surround the fantasy world, yet all these concepts are swept under the rug to create a focus on the romance. I would have enjoyed more world-building, in place of the two main characters pining after each other, but I cannot deny the obvious chemistry between them. While I would have preferred a more not instant love storyline, it was delivered well with the "meant for each other" trope.
It was a pretty fast paced book, with loads of fluff. There is nothing 'dark' about this retelling. Overall, this book is a cozy holiday read for anyone that likes fairytale retellings with a little more passion and chemistry. Reading it gave me classic yet heartwarming feeling.
When I had read this book I really did enjoy the nutcracker theme. The Nutcracker story is one my favorites amongst the classic stories. However, I did believe it could have been shortened. But, I would still recommend to fellow Nutcracker and fantasy book lovers.
I really enjoyed this sweet retelling of the nutcracker! It was a super cute read with lots of romance between many characters (no love triangles just details about characters romantic lives). I didn’t enjoy some of the writing with unusual word choices. Some of the scenes in this book gave me the warm fuzzies!
Pick up this book if you like cute romantic stories adapted from classic stories.
Avoid if you dislike Insta love, predictable plots and all the characters being romantic.
Thank you to netgalley, the author and publisher for this arc in exchange for an honest review.
Although not appropriate for my middle schoolers, I really enjoyed this read! Will be buying a copy for my personal library and recommending to friends!
This was a fun read- nothing better than an adult version of the Nutcracker!!
I’d recommend this if you’re looking for a fun easy read. I’m a sucker for retellings of classical fairytale stories, so I was already intrigued from the get-go!
Thank you to Netgalley for sending me a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
As a true nutcracker obsessed soul, I had to give this book a read for the holiday season. An adult retelling of the original tale, I found this version to be very inventive and captivating. The romance between Klara and Prince Jaemis starts the moment the two lock eyes and evolves into a passionate love between the two over the course of the book. There is romance, sword-fighting, magic, curses, and deception involved, something for everyone. If you like fantasy and retellings this is definitely one to pick up.
The Curse Of Frost and Fate is a Christmas story which is why I had started reading this in December originally. It’s a Nutcracker romance—my first nutcracker story—to be precise. Before this I was unaware of the original Nutcracker story and the ballet. Of course, I had some idea from tidbits of what I had heard of it but I never knew the full story.
This book is loosely based reimagination of the original Nutcracker story, giving this book a creatively tied, story inside a story structure.
Curse of Frost and Fate is about a girl called Klara whose Christmas night at her home ends with her getting tipsy and entering a different world; a world where nutcrackers, faeries, snow queens, curses, magick, witches and the mouse king, all of them exist; a world Klara has only read about in books.
I won’t say a lot about the plot of this book because I fear I’ll end up spoiling something.
But if I had to describe this book or rather recommend this book in a simple sentence, I would say that this book is about traveling and travelers, and for people who live their life in the moment and carpe diem the whole way through. Reading this book certainly felt like I was living it, living the whole story.
Speaking of living the story, the prose was impeccable. I felt like I was right there. It was just the right amount of descriptive writing and the writing of the actual story which gave them both a perfect balance.
One thing I do have a complaint about is the exposition. Somewhere in the middle, I kind of felt like the plot wasn’t moving a lot. Like I said, the book is about travelers, so there’s obviously a lot of world building and thus, exposition is valid but there were certain parts where I felt that the worldbuilding was slowing the actual plot.
I really loved the romance as well. There’s a point at the end of the book where the female main character says something referring to the love interest and I couldn’t agree more. She said, “The bar has been set really high,” or something like that and I was nodding my head like a maniac. Like…. Sis, same! There were many steamy toe-curling worthy scenes as well. Wink, wink.
I also loved, and I mean, loved when the antagonists were reintroduced in the climax, ‘cause that shit blew my mind! I wished there were more scenes about the antagonists and how they faced setbacks and planned their moves… the battle scenes especially should have had more to it because it felt really rushed to me. Because it just happened very quickly and I was there like, “That’s all?” I needed more!!!!
I guess, overall, I would like to give this book a 4 out of 5 stars. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and would recommend it to everyone who likes reading fantasy, magical, paranormal romance and especially to people who like to seize the day!
Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publishers who gave me the opportunity to read this book in return of an honest review. Thanks for reading!

📖 fairytale retellings
🌎 fantastical world building
🔮 supernatural characters
🧹 magic
🧑🤝👩 interesting and lovable side characters
As a Nutcracker lover, I had to read this book. The description was appealling and the magic pulled me in. While I did enjoy reading it, I was not expecting the amount of mature content in this. I normally prefer my books with very little spice, so I was caught off guard with this one. Still, I had a nice time reading it!
A fantasy retelling of the Nutcracker, I am already interested. I love retellings of fairytales and other folktales. These stories give a new spin to an old fable. This story is a creative take on the Nutcracker. Although, this story is a retelling of a fairytale, it is a little steamy and sexy. Cleverly written and the plot will have you wanted to take a cold shower.

I had a great time reading this book! As a fan of all things Christmas. I really appreciated a Christmas-themed fantasy romance that could be mistaken for something on the Hallmark Channel. The chemistry between the Nutcracker Prince Jaemis and Clara was on fire and I loved all the spicey scenes. It’s a solid addition to any romance collection
If you love fairy tales with love, magic, and adventures, then you cannot miss this retelling of the Nutcracker, which is one of my favorite Christmas stories.
Although a slow start, I really ended up enjoying this. I would like to give this book a 4 out of 5 stars. I thoroughly enjoyed this story and would recommend it to everyone who likes reading fantasy, magical, and paranormal romance,
Looking forward to reading more from this author
I really enjoyed this book! The story is magical and the romance is a slow burn. It was a great read!
Rating: 5/5
I received a copy of eARC for my honest opinion.
A retelling of The Nutcracker, um yes, I had to have it. The Nutcracker story is one of my favorites Christmas stories and of course the ballet of it is amazing. So, when I saw a retelling of it, I knew that I had to read this.
I loved that the author stuck close to The Nutcracker but added their personal touches to it. I thought the world-building was done great. The plot does follow the beloved book and ballet of and so much more. I loved the twists and turns in the book, I thought at times her godfather was someone else and then to be given more information that took the plot a little to a different side and it never lost the wonderful feeling of a fantasy book. The author's writing style really helped me to feel like I was a part of the book instead of just reading it. There were a few typos in the book but I was not to the point where I was like huh. The romance is a slow burn, but it was done great where I wasn’t like OMG how much longer? Instead, it was more of Prince Jaemis and Klara having time to learn about each other and how to learn the differences of a human vs a fae. The characters were easy to connect with. I really enjoyed Klara, she acted like I would if I was thrown into an unknown world and I thought I was still dreaming. I like how she reacted to finding out that she was not dreaming at all but what she was feeling and seeing was all real. Her character is a strong, independent woman who is not scared to give everything she must to protect her loved ones and is not scared to go after what she loves. I thought Prince Jaemis was of course one good looking fae prince, I mean how many are out there that are just meh. He is loyal, courageous and of course he is cursed so he can be a little broody. I loved the chemistry between those two and let me tell you there are some spicy scenes in this book and I did say “Its about time” when it finally happened.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves retellings, fantasy, slow burn, spicy scenes, fated mates, cursed princes, one bed & forced proximity.
I want to thank NetGalley and BooksGoSoical for the opportunity to review this book.

WoW loved this fairy book story. It’s a story of how a young woman meets her prince and the trials they go through to be together. Oh yes and any good fairy tale has a curse!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley. The opinions expressed in this review are completely my own
A Curse of Frost and Fate was an enjoyable take on the Nutcracker. I found the characters well-written and the setting fantastic. It is a perfect story for the holiday season.
Once I started this I could not put it down, when I got to the end I wanted more! There was passion, danger, magic, family, friends, trust, honesty, secrets, lies, half truths, pasts, hope, faith, darkness, light, mystery, romance and so much love.
I really loved the concept of a Nutcracker retelling, and it makes a spicy, fantasy read for the winter months.
requested this FAST once I read it was a spicy retelling of the nutcracker, and I'm glad I did! The chemistry between the MCs was amazing, truly a book I would recommend to any spicy romance lovers out there.
I had no idea I was getting into a beautiful fantasy world that was inspired The Nutcracker. Right from the first page you can feel the magic of the story as we meet the characters and get to be swept away into a tale of romance and magic, and a nice helping a spicy bits. Highly recommend if you like retellings that hold your attention from start to finish.
