Description

In this book from the critically acclaimed, multimillion-copy bestselling Little People, BIG DREAMS series, discover the incredible life of Mozart, world-renowned classical musician and composer.

Wolfgang Mozart first started playing the keyboard at just three years old. Inspired by his sister’s talent, little Wolfgang soon mastered several instruments and was even writing his own musical compositions. As a young boy, he travelled from city to city with his father and sister, playing for Europe’s royal families and delighting them with his talents. When his father fell ill, and Wolfgang had to keep quiet in their home, he wrote a whole symphony from just hearing the instruments in his head! As he grew, Mozart pushed the boundaries of western music and created exciting masterpieces: from dances and masses to symphonies and operas. Wolfgang wrote over 600 pieces during his short life.

Wolfgang became a world-renowned musician and composer, known for his prodigious talent and ability to write across a wide variety of styles. His music has become a key part of western music education, and continues to inspire young musicians to keep playing and practicing their instruments. Today, Wolfgang’s music still delights audiences across the world, from the smallest school auditorium to the biggest opera house.

This inspiring book features stylish and quirky illustrations and extra facts at the back, including a biographical timeline with historical photos and a detailed profile of the incredible musician and composer’s life

Mozart is the newest edition to the Little People, Big Dreams collection for children. This is the story of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, a talented musician and composer born in 1756 in Austria. He is one of the most famous classical composers. This book for little people is a great introduction to a music great. The illustrations are well-done and follow the story appropriately. Great book to add to your classroom, school, or library!

Thanks Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to review this advanced review copy (ARC) in exchange for my honest review on the book!

Little People, Big Dreams hits another biography out of the park for young readers. This time the focus is on Mozart and his success in Europe after learning to play at the age of 3. Excellent illustrations accompany the text—a must-read to children.

This brief biography, rightfully so as it is intended for audience 4-7 years old, depicts the most known traits of Mozart. It gives a clear picture of who he was.

He learned how to play the keyboard just by watching his sister. He composed his first piece before he knew how to write. He wrote down a composition after just listening to it. The story also mentions his talented sister who was pushed aside only because she was a girl. And the Mozart’s troubled side of mismanaging money.

With clear statements, this biography introduces young minds to an extraordinary composer who was a genius and a flawed human being. The story is accompanied by stunning illustrations; probably my favorite in this series so far.

A new book in the Little People, BIG Dreams series, this book for children explores the life and work of Mozart. As a musical prodigy by the age of 3, the story follows Mozart as he grows and shares his talents across Europe. The book touches on family illness and does mention the differences in how Wolfgang and his sister, also a talented musician, are treated due to societal rules, but all in a very appropriate way for young children. The illustrations are colorful and compelling. This book is a great introduction to Mozart for kids, and gives further reading recommendations for those wanting to learn more. Highly recommend if you are a fan of the series or have young kids in your life that would benefit from a story about following your dreams and pursuing your talents.

A simple introduction to life of W. A. Mozart. Colorful illustrations engage young readers while the simple text makes for ages 8-11. Further details and portraits are provided at the end of the book in the summary section for adults to peruse. This series is wonderful for young readers. Short and accessible.

What a delightful introduction to Mozart, a man of so much talent, for young readers. I liked that it began when he was only three, which is when he learned to play the piano simply by watching his sister play. I don't know about you, but when I was three I was more interested to motoring along after puppies and lambs than sitting inside playing a piano. Be prepared for children's questions of why his sister was no longer allowed to perform when she married simply because she was a female, however.

That aside, even knowing the stress and overwhelming loss of childhood his incredible talents took from him, this story is for children and it's uplifting and nicely illustrated. The illustrations not only show us Mozart, of course, but a sense of the grandeur of the places he performed and became accustomed to working. I liked the touch of musical notes and score running through the early pages, albeit that touch seemed to end at about the time he reached adulthood and had to deal with real life issues, like paying the bills, not just focus on his musical compositions. Not that the story focuses on that but perhaps a visual nod to more tuned in adult readers?

Bottom line, I thoroughly enjoyed this book (and also the entire Little People, Big Dreams series). He's first presented as a child, just like the primary readers of this book, and the story of Mozart is an intriguing one, with the illustrations giving us a hint of the people about him who impacted his short life in one way or the other. It was a simplified version of his life, true, but as an introduction for children to not just him but perhaps classical music, it was easily followed and understood. Thank you #NetGalley and #QuartoPublishingGroup - #FrancesLincolnChildren'sBooks for this nicely done, concise look at an extraordinary life as well as the info on where to find out more at the end.

Once again, I applaud the author of the Little People, Big Dreams series for writing "readable" books about important people, both past and present. Beautifully illustrated and written with text and wording that will interest young and old. Both those doing the reading, and those being read to.

Thank you so much to Quarto/ Frances Lincoln and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.

Mozart a famous composer who created over 600 pieces of music and still touches peoples hearts today with his wondrous creations. In this book it shares his life and how he became who he was.

I am a huge classical music fan so jumped at reading this one, though I adore the music I never knew much about any of the composers but it’s was a wonderful book and I learnt so much from reading it.

Mozart was still a young child yet was adorned with such a wonderful gift, a gift that he loved and couldn’t contain or keep to himself. His whole family loved everything he did and shared it for the world to see. It’s sad that due to the era though his sister never got the same notice as him, I bet her music was incredible too.

This book will be wonderful for young children who are budding musicians and composers themselves, learning all about the great Mozart and how being so young and carrying on right until death he created such genius works. A wonderful inspiration on working hard and loving what you do, and that people will truly believe in your talents.

The illustrations were quite good in the book . It was well done and very informative about the composer Mozart . This book is a great way to introduce the composer and his life in short form to children . As a music expert -- I can verify that the information is accurate. This could be a wonderful series of books if more composers are done in the future and a way to get children interested in music and music history.

The Little People, Big Dreams series has another inspiring story added to the series which will inspire young people and adults alike.
Mozart tells of the musical child prodigy who learned to play and compose music by listening to his sister play the harpsichord. His father took the two children on a tour of Europe where the young boy astounded audiences with his musical understanding. The author's work is accompanied by beautiful, detailed illustrations by Lia Visirin and there is a timeline at the rear of the book which further gives more details of Mozart's life.
This is a great addition to the series.

The entirety of this series is very well done with clear text and illustrations. And Mozart? Well, he ranks right up there, doesn't he? So, the more young people are introduced to Mozart, the better. A good book and an excellent series of primers for the youngsters in your life.

It's a lovely and upbeat read. I recently learned that Mozart had an elder sister, which I was previously unaware of. ... a little unhappy that his sister couldn't be as famous as Mozart. And I want to buy a copy of this book because of the gorgeous illustrations!

This is another awesome book in the Little People, BIG DREAMS series for kids. In this book we are shown the life of Wolfgang Mozart, who was a famous classical musician and composer. We are taken back to when he was just three years old, where he copied his big sister when she was playing the keyboard. He eventually went on to travel around playing music for people, and even composing operas, and he became very well known all around the world.

This is a wonderful book, which is full of interesting facts and information, while being covered in beautiful, colourful illustrations, which children will love. I really enjoyed reading this book, and I highly recommend it.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.

Mozart’s biography is written in an appealing way for kids, and it is perfectly complemented with gorgeous illustrations.
The book celebrates Mozart’s brilliancy, focusing on his accomplishments and on the good parts of his life. It also mentions his sister talent and how her career ended, as she needed to fulfill the expected role of women.
Overall, a lovely and short biography, appropriate for all ages.

I visited Austria last year and learned so much about Mozart that I had never learned before. This book also taught me (and my young children) even more! It’s such an inspirational look at having unique avails ties and talents at a young age and how one can live their whole life working tirelessly towards their passions. I also loved the included details about Mozart’s equally talented sister and how she is lesser know because she was born a girl. Cannot wait to add this to our home library!

Mozart by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara is a delightful children's book.
It's short enough to hold a child's attention but still manages to capture Mozart's incredible life.
It is factual and easy to read. It touches upon Mozart's talent from from a very young age, travelling to different countries, the influence of family members and pieces of music he composed.
The illustrations are perfect and make the topic more interesting and relatable to young readers.

I personally enjoyed this book and think it would be appropriate for children aged between 5-9.

Absolutely adored this book! I huge part of my life is music. When I taught music at a school, we talked about Mozart quite a bit. So I knew a good bit about him before reading this, but with the pictures and other little tidbits I didn’t know, the story was exceptional!

🎶 What’s not to love about these Little People, Big Dreams books!? I wish these books were available when I was a kid!

🎶 If you’ve read any Little People, Big Dreams books before, you are already aware that they are fabulously illustrated and informative books about a famous person’s life. This version about Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is no exception. Young readers will learn about his life, of course, but I think they will be particularly impressed and inspired by his accomplishments at such a young age. And therein lies the beauty of these books – introducing children to famous and historical people and inspiring them as well!

🎶 The book includes paintings of Mozart and a brief summary biography of his life in the back matter.

🎶 If you have a child interested in piano or classical music you must have this book! Every elementary school should have this book in their classrooms as well, along with all the other Little People, Big Dreams books. I would have read these books over and over as a kid, and I’m sure kids today would appreciate them too!

Thank you @NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group – Frances Lincoln Children’s Books for an eARC of this book, which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

One of many short vignettes of people from history as well as the present whom children might get to know as well as those who read with them.
Wolfgang was a child prodigy and a musical genius who lived a long time ago. Although he died rather young, his musical compositions for piano and orchestra live on and remain very popular.
The illustrations by Lia Visirin are clear, colorful, and add much to the story.
Well suited for reading WITH someone of any age including ESL, and great for gifting to anyone, but especially to a school or your public library!
I requested and received a free temporary e-book on Adobe Digital Editions from Quarto Publishing Group/Frances Lincoln Children's Books via NetGalley. Thank you!

Who was Mozart?

From the series "Little people, big dreams": Mozart. The book tells the most interesting key facts of the life story of Mozart (and his sister!). On the few pages you can learn a lot (certainly not so well-known facts) about Mozart and his life. The illustrations are harmonious and warm. They have an inviting and atmospheric appearance.

Very well designed: writing style, fact selection and pictures.

My kids love the Little People, Big Dreams books for the very simple and approachable way they highlight notable historical figures, and Mozart is an especially awesome addition. The book goes into a lot of details about Mozart's early life, which I think makes it that much more relatable for young kids. There are also details about some of his most notable works and there is a lot of possibility to dig into more for further study. I highly recommend this book and many other from the Little People, Big Dreams series!

I absolutely adore these books as much as my children. We always learn so much together, and they are just so beautiful to.look at. Mozart was a child prodigy, learning to play music from 3 years old and composing by 8 years old. He was touring Europe in his childhood. He came from.a musical family, but his talented sister wasn't able to showcase her talents after marriage and was held back due to being a female. By the time he died in his mid 30s, he had composed over 600 pieces. An enthralling read with the most detailed and colourful pictures. #mozart #littlepeoplebigdreams #mariaisabelsanchezvegara #netgalley
