Description
King of Gwynedd, Gruffydd ap Cynan, grapples with demons following the Norman attack on the Welsh; Henry I of England summons him to account for his support of the young firebrand Griffith ap Rhys.
Leaving his wife Angharad as regent, Gruffydd knows he must go but may not return from the English Court.
As Gruffydd tries to distinguish friend from foe on the most dangerous journey of his life, Angharad’s brother, Gronwy, moves to take over Gwynedd in Gruffydd’s absence. Gwenllian, who dreams of being a warrior princess, and her brothers take matters into their own hands, risking their lives and putting their family in further jeopardy.
Is it too late for love to survive and for the royal family of Gwynedd to be secure from all who would destroy them?
This story is based on real characters whose personalities and actions have forged the heart of many songs the bards sang, and their complex relationships and adventures will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Beautiful story and characters.
Loved the world the dialogues and the writing.
Highly recommend for everyone who loves this genre

First of all the cover of this book is beautiful! I have not read much about this time in history and I really enjoyed it. It is a great book!

First and foremost, the cover is incredible!! SO I found noo indication this was part of a series so I wish I had known going into this, cause I really loved the writing and I really enjoyed the setting and characters but I found it confusing to read as I felt I was missing out on some stuff. I would definitely recommend going back and starting the series from number 1!
