Description
A gripping family saga, a coming-of-age passage, and a romantic thriller set on a journey in a beautiful but volatile land (Eclipse Nile Series Book I)
Does Love never let go – even when it can lead to murder?
Sara, a successful businessperson in her mid-thirties, takes her family on a holiday-of-a-lifetime to unstable, post-insurrection Egypt as a ploy to secretly meet with her ex-lover James, who has recently issued a subpoena challenging her husband, Andy’s, paternity of their seventeen-year-old son, Rick.
James, who left Ireland under a cloud as the Celtic Tiger collapsed, has now risen to prominence as a member of Egypt’s powerful elite – a position that as an outsider makes him vulnerable to attack.
His paternity subpoena has unedged Andy, who is reverting to his student-self before he dropped out to fully support their young family, and seventeen-year-old, Rick, has his own reasons for travelling.
When Rick’s illegal climb on the Great Pyramid goes awry and is discovered by the police, Sara turns to newly reconnected James to shield her son. Their love is reignited – even as James manages to survive a targeted explosion.
Full of clandestine intrigue and danger with their lives increasingly under threat, the family are drawn into a tumultuous maelstrom under the scorching sun where rules do not apply – and where a counter revolution is being incited.

This was like the mummy 2.0! A contemporary version of the early 2000s hit! It was OK, not as good as a couple of the new remakes of the book but still ok!

This book had a good plot and storyline, but my personal preference is for books to not go back and forth from different characters perspectives, so I struggled with that some.
I did like the characters, and liked the story though and think that someone who does not struggle with multiple character viewpoints would enjoy this book!
