I really enjoyed reading this book and about the modern day culture of the Paiute Indian tribe. Hayden did her study of the Indians well. The story is about an elderly tribe member who hates the way his people are wanting the modern ways and influence and forsaking the ways of the tribe of the past generations. The plot is very intriguing, filled with unexpected twist and turns...... Reporter Aimee Brent is sent by her newspaper to investigate a murder on Paiute lands. At first she is denied entrance as the tribal leaders have closed the land and no one can come in nor leave the grounds. And the mystery and suspense begins. She is then allowed to enter for three days but cannot investigate the murder, just comment on the ways of the people. Hold on to your seats as there is much excitement and suspense as we find out who the murderer is. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the chance to read and review this great book.
