Description
In a world of shadows and secrets, John Chayne's return home becomes a dangerous dance with betrayal and bloodshed.
When John Chayne, a handsome, tall and mysterious MIA from the Iraq War, is spotted by an ex-member of his old platoon, he unexpectedly leaves the farming family he’s lived with for two years. He doesn’t want to cause any more problems than he has to. He goes to his home pueblo in the Four Corners area of New Mexico. No one knows how John ended up in upstate New York. There were rumors for a while until he became almost forgotten. Whatever the reasons were, John certainly wasn’t about to tell anyone.
His arrival at the Pueblo was unexpected by those who knew him. But not to Paul Begaye, an old schoolmate from John’s High School days. A Drug Cartel has completely taken over the pueblo and Paul is their head man. Paul had always been strange, violent, and absolutely brilliant. But now, he’s taken his evil ways to a whole new level.
Paul’s primary goal is to throw out the cartel by any means available and take it over for himself. He’s got the money, the weapons, and the brilliance to pull it off. But the cartel won’t go away easily and Paul soon realizes that he needs solid battlefield experience and attempts to hire John Chayne to complete the battle against the cartel. He uses kidnapping, bribery, addiction, and murder to keep everyone on the pueblo under his thumb.
Will John Chayne give in to the evil for $20,000,000? Will he sacrifice everything he believes in? Will he survive this Hell on Earth? Read ‘Betrayal is Beautiful’ to find out.

This book offers us a fast-paced action thriller, suspenseful plot twists, and complex characters that add an interesting layer of depth to them. The narrative is strong, the dialogue is believable, and the pacing is consistent, I was completely immersed myself in the story.
A story with a lot of tension and drama narrated in a fluid way, with vividly described landscapes in an impeccable setting and characters with great psychological depth and very well built especially the main character, John. Topics about the fight for survival, how complicated life is, the power that the cartels have over some lands, the dangers of this. There’re parts that feel so real.
All this focused on the lives of very different characters that intertwine masterfully until that ending that leaves you surprised.
The author perfectly describes the oppressive environment, anguish, revenge, fear, as well as the psychological experience of a person who experienced a war in real time, as well as the struggle to reconcile these experiences with the rest of their lives.
“Betrayal is beautiful"" is an impressive debut novel that deserves to be read and discussed.

Wow I was really looking forward to reading this after seeing the cover and then reading the description and I wasn’t disappointed. I really enjoyed reading it.
The story is great and I got into it straight away. What I loved was how the author has put lots of thoughts into the details of the main characters throughout the book.
The ending wasn’t what I was expecting it to be and would never had guessed it. Well done on that.
