Description
A man wakes up in his car, unaware of how he got there. Shaken by his loss of memory, he drives home, not knowing that in twenty-four hours he will be in jail, arrested for the kidnapping and murder of a missing college student. Though a mountain of evidence points to his guilt, this man, Julian Gutierrez, maintains his innocence. He is sentenced to Death Row, set to be executed for a crime he knows he did not commit, yet having no way of escaping his deadly and unjust fate.
That is, until the day a postcard arrives.
It claims to be from a witness that knows he is innocent. It is now up to Julian's sister and her husband to find out the truth before his time runs out. What they uncover is a mystery bigger than any of them could possibly imagine.
And in the shadows is a foe, calling himself The Fulcrum, waiting for the day that someone comes knocking, knocking at the door of the mousetrap he has constructed.

Abraham Lopez's narrative, "The Mousetrap Murders," is a tantalizing blend of suspense, injustice, and the relentless quest for the truth. The story begins with a compelling premise: a man falsely accused, sentenced to Death Row, and a glimmer of hope in the form of a mysterious postcard.
Lopez's storytelling shines through in the way the narrative weaves tension and suspense into the story. The characters' journey to unveil the truth and prevent an unjust execution keeps the reader engaged and emotionally invested. The presence of the enigmatic antagonist, The Fulcrum, adds an extra layer of intrigue and menace.
The idea of a "mousetrap" devised by this antagonist is both captivating and foreboding, promising a high-stakes showdown that will keep readers eagerly turning the pages.
Overall, "The Mousetrap Murders" possesses immense potential as a gripping mystery novel. It will captivate readers from the first page to the last, making it a thrilling and intellectually stimulating addition to the genre. Abraham Lopez has done an excellent job, and I look forward to seeing the story unfold.
I really enjoyed reading this book. The mystery had me hooked and left me not wanting to put it down.

Excellent mystery with a lot of suspense and great twists and turns. Well done!
"The Mousetrap Murders" begins with the perspective of a man, Julian, who wakes up in his car with no memory. 24 hours later he is framed for the murder of a young woman. From the get go, this book keeps the reader hooked with the bits and pieces of clues that begin to shape up throughout the narrative. Information that seems out of place or unimportant find their relevance as the protagonists try to save Julian. What they didn't know was that they were getting tangled up in a massive conspiracy.
This was a quick read that kept me hooked throughout the narrative. While readers know early on that Julian is innocent, it is easy to empathize with his cause. The excepts of the Manifesto seemed out of place early on, but their importance soon came to light. I enjoyed knowing more than the protagonists at certain points and making the connections between the Manifesto and the murders.
I am used to reading first-person narratives so there was a bit of a learning curve for me. I also got lost in some key details towards the beginning as I was sorting between the Manifesto story and the main story. However, everything came together in a big teeth-clenching, heart pounding ending.
"The Mousetrap Murders" is a thrilling read from start to finish that will encapture those who are thriller experts to those who would like to dip their toes into the genre. I highly recommend this book and am looking forward to more publications from Abraham Lopez.
The mousetrap murders is a cleverly written thriller full of suspense, twists and a compelling fight for truth and justice. Julian Gutierrez wakes up in his car not knowing how he came to be there and what has happened. 24hours later he is arrested for kidnapping and murder of a college student. All he knows is that he is innocent but to the world he is guilty and sentenced to death row. One day a postcard arrives and his future may be set to change. A gripping page turner. Cleverly written and with intriguing characters. It moves at a fast pace and doesn't allow itself to get bogged down in its own cleverness and unnecessary detail. I really enjoyed it and would recommend. Thanks to the publisher, Abraham Lopez and NetGalley for the ARC.
This book hooked me in from the beginning. An overwhelming amount of evidence points to one man as the guilty party. Time is of the essence as the man is on death row and a date has been set. The novel unravels each tangled string of evidence to get to the truth. Cleverly crafted and keeps the reader captivated to the final page.
Abraham Lopez did an excellent job! This book kept me on my toes. Would recommend this book for everyone!
A great mystery that kept me interested throughout. The storyline is compelling, a young man wakes up with no memory of recent events and is accused of murder, but of course there’s always more to the story than meets the eye! The book includes some excerpts that confused me a little at first, but it all came together in the end. The storyline is fast paced and keeps you on your toes, with a good amount of character development throughout.
